Since the Iraqis northern pipelines are basically unusable in an due to sabatoge, a member of the Axis of Evil Iran steps in with a generous and probably very profitable offer to build a convenient secure pipeline to Iran for Iraqi oil. Oh that is good. Give Iran more money and influence even though they may be involved in the activties against the curren transport infrastructure.

In this context, I was commenting on the irony of the situation.

What's so ironic about it? Criticizing the US for trying to bridge gaps? Would you rather see us nuke Iran? Why don't you let us know how you really feel?

As far as I know the US had nothing to do with this directly. We haven't done anthing to bridge the gaps with Iran.

However, as a consequence of invading Iraq we have given Iran more influence in Iraq and now over Iraqs oil. Unintended consequences with yet to be determined results.
