Oh the POWER

this is a huge concern for me:
will a 220W power supply run a Leadtek Geforce 6800GT, a p4 @ 2.8 with 533 FSB an ide hard drive a CDRW a floppy and 2 Gb of Patriot 333mhz ram?
if not where can i find a micro atx power supply and how many Watts would you recommend?
thanks in advance.

A good 350 will be sufficient for those needs. A cheap one won't. Look for at least 18A on the 12V rail.

LOL - your PSU will cut off before your finger lifts off the power button 😛

Definitely get a nice 400w or more psu with >=30A on the 12v rail.

Jeebus, that is certainly not necessary with his setup!

Trust me 18A or greater on the 12V and you will be set.

Look at the side of a power supply and you will see what I mean, it is "+12" if you are not familiar with that sort of thing...

What do you mean by this? Ram timings are the latency in ns that it takes for the memory to do each step off all the fun and complicated stuff that it does with transistors. There are many, and usually the overall latency of the ram is in the 50ns range. <--- I think.

remember, matx here. Decent = expensive anyway. Going for the little bit more power here costs way more than it should...

350 should be fine as long as it is quality and meets the aforementioned standards.

well i sent in a request to my current supplier which happens to be "Chyang Fun Industries".
maybe the have the answer. tried to fit a regular powersupply in there but it took up about a third of my case 🙂

Do you by any chance have a Shuttle? If not what is the case? There are certain mATX PSU's that are shaped differently and you might be able to use one of those

na. unfortunately when i was hunting for a sff setup my pc knowledge was even less than it is now and i didn't know that shuttle just about dominates the sff market. i have a thing that is called Ice Cube (Icvg61) it is a masterful peace of poop performed by First International Computers. Well if anyone would like to buy it i would be glad to sell it now. it has everything but the ram. If you are considering it i'll tell you the other specs. otherwise i just don't feel like typing, because i have done so many times and nobody wanted to get it in the end. anyways, if you'll find me a powersupply that fits i'll get it.
