Today's rebuild list. Enjoy. :|

1.) Install nf4 drivers, ethernet driver from a8n-sli cd
2.) Download and install .NET 2.0 so I can download ati drivers
3.) Create desktop folder for downloaded drivers/name it "Drivers"
4.) Download ATI Catalyst 5.3 Media Center Drivers
5.) Create rebuild list for future reference
6.) Copy and paste old desktop
7.) Copy and paste old start menu
8.) Download/Install Java 5.0 Update 6
9.) Copy and paste old Favorites
10.) Copy and paste my Documents
11.) Unlock toolbar; add quick launch, add my computer, notepad and my

documents icon
12.) Daydream about installing Vista instead
13.) Root around a bit while stuff is copying and pasting
14.) Install KAV Personal Pro
15.) Sign in to Google and reset personalized homepage
16.) Check NFL scores from yesterday
17.) Check messages at ATOT
18.) Update Antivirus Definitions
19.) Adjust screen resolution because it's driving me insane
20.) Get up and go look for glasses because I can't read anything now
21.) Run Antivirus while copying files and surfing. Take a moment to

thank God for AMD and x2 processors
22.) Say Hi to Skoorb at ATOT, :amazed;
23.) Stop virus scan for impending reboot.
24.) Install ATI Drivers even though I wanted a reboot first. It's

always best to ignore what you know is right when you're installing a

new OS because the last one was borked.
25.) Download and install Turtle Beach Santa Cruz drivers
26.) Crank up some TSO on Foobar
27.) Download and install Hauppauge drivers. Discover a new beta package for mce that autoinstalls flawlessly and once again thank God.
28.) Get run out of my chair so the wife can lay down her new area rug.
29.) Install nvidia dvd decoder
30.) Run Media Center, same problem occurs. "Fvck" does not adequately

convey my frustration. I've tried most every conceivable variation of

the word "fvck" and still no relief.
31.) Download new chipset drivers. I think the problem is with the

Nvidia ide driver. I don't know if I'll find anything to help, my guess

is that this is one of those "wait six months and the problem will iron

out" problems. That's what I get for insisting on cutting edge crap.
Looks like MCE will have to go on my k8vsedx/3200 newcastle box.
32.) Install winrar to unrar the fvcking rar'd chipset drivers.
33.) Unrar and install chipset and ide drivers
34.) Reboot
35.) Test MCE. Still doesn't work. Kick cat in the head.
36.) Disable pci ieee1394 in Bios on a whim. Saw reference to a

beyondtv problem. WTF, at this point I'll try anything.
37.) Test MCE. It works fine now. Suck my nuts. Now I can set to rebuilding the rest of my system over the next month. I thought I'd feel good about this, but I feel like I was dateraped.
