LUCKNOW: Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, who faces eight criminal cases and was charged under the now-defunct Pota, will be in charge of Uttar Pradesh's prison department. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav kept as many as 50 departments to himself as he distributed portfolios among his 47 ministers on Sunday.

Raja Bhaiya also holds charge of food and civil supplies, despite charges of a multi-crore scam under his watch.
Politics in India are pretty damn funny.

He has not been convicted - so apparently is eligible.

If convicted - will he be required to surrender those positions?

We have same situation here with our politicians. Difficult for US to point fingers with being hypocrites.
