With my town suddenly filling to the brim with college kids, it brings back memories of when I was one of them.

No worries.
Only responsible for classes/homework.
Poor as fvck but able to scrounge up money for cheap booze/other substances.
House parties.
The dorm life of just hanging around in other peoples rooms, doing jack sh!t.
LAN gaming with my roommates.
Oh and lets not for get de womenz, oh the womenz! :D

Anyone else sometimes long for those days?

That is unless you're still in those days. If you are, ENJOY THEM WHILE THEY LAST! Seriously. I don't care how much work you have, get out there and have some fun!

I went to Champlain High School as well! What year did you graduate and what was your major?

I didn't live on campus so I did most of my drinking elsewhere.

Comeon man. There is plenty of time for working after school. Don't waste away your college years. I knew kids like yourself who kick themselves in the ass for working all the way through college. Not living in the dorms just takes another chunk of the social life out of college. Live in the dorms + No bills + plenty of people + free time = :D

I'm going into my senior year(we don't start till September 6th) and I already have a job lined up after I graduate in May.

Needless to say, I plan on having a LOT of fun this year.

Best decision I ever made was moving into the dorms my first year, even though it was only 30 mins from home. Freshmen year was the most fun i've ever had in my life even till now 6 years later. I really do miss those days. I feel sorry for people like my older brother who lived at home and went to a junior college.

You know why they always say its the best 4 years of your life?

because it is...

Actually, maybe not, but it's a time when you have more freedome and opportunity than you will ever have again and no matter how good your life gets afterwards, your college years will always be special...

I think it depends much on what your life was like before college. If you were at home tied-up by your parents, then it will probably be a blast. If you sewed many wild oats before college then you're probably there for more serious reasons--like getting an education.

I feel it all the time. And it doens't help to have a younger brother who is in college to remind you. Why remind me that I am a miserable corporate lemming.

Same here.

I can't not work, mortgage and bills are too much for my wife to handle alone. With school, work, home/car maintenence these are probably gonna me the most stressful years of my life.

I'm sometimes a bit envious of the people that get to have the typical college experience, but whatever. You play the hand you're delt. :p

i miss my college days. graduated 4 years ago and i still fondly look back on the nights we randomly decide to go to a pool hall 12am, or have drinking parties on thursday nights...then i gratuaded and started working and its the same old sh!t day after day. you guys still in college should really enjoy it while you're there. it won't be as good or care-free once you start working in the real world.

I'm in a Canadian university.

The chicks are all hippies and therefore don't put out
The classes suck
Not enough parties.

My first or second weekend at college, the people in our dorm were trying to figure out what to do on Friday night at 10pm. We all hopped in a couple cars and drove an hour or so to Montreal (where the drinking age is 18) Had a blast!

Indeed.

Been out for 15months now. Got a new job so that should make things interesting.
