Started a new routine last week and the DOMS is absolutely horrid right now. Even laughing just hurts like hell.

Anyone know any way to temporarily alleviate DOMS? Ibuprofen didn't do much for me.

There's a difference between being sore and DOMS. You can typically feel soar immediately following a workout, but DOMS means that there is more than just superficial damage to the tissue (which is good).

Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness...

I imagine you don't exercise too often.

I mostly just lay in bed and have other people post on here for me when I feel like it. I mean, how could I exercise when I missed the DOMS question on my workout permit?

Most of the time I relieve soreness by going back and lightly exercising - nothing too extenuating.

Take some time off, you've probably been pushing too hard.

I've been lifting 19 years and I have never heard anyone refer to it as that. I guess it's his way of sounding smart.

I've been lifting for a few months and I've heard of it. So maybe it's not that he's trying to sound smart, but rather you just don't know the term :)
