I burned a bunch of important files to a cd-rw and then deleted the files from the hard drive. I then was messing around with cd-speed and it malfunctioned erasing the cd-rw.

I can't find a single app that can recover them.

UPDATE: I found the files on other media...I backed them up three times it appears. I have enjoyed the insults though.

If you havn't overwritten the files from the hard drive you might be able to recover them that way... its certainly worth a try.

I'm sorry, but I have to agree with everyone else...messing around with the only copy of some important files isn't the smartest thing you could have done, especially when it wouldn't hurt you to back it up to the hard drive when you were gonna mess with it in case something like this happened, or just leave them on there in the first place.

ouch!

context?

Some kid accidentally turned in a CD full of child porn to one of his professors, then tried to get it back by claiming that it was a mix CD that belonged to his roommate.
