Oh sh*t I think I goofed (Pertaining to Dell 1800FP LCD purchase)

Hey guys and gals, I made the above lcd purchase at Dell SB the other day and got what I thought IMHO to be a good deal on the above. Anyways, I read on another site that if this monitor is purchased by itself with no other dell product than the monitor carries no warranty at all. Is this true? I know the manufacturer of this lcd is LG, would they have a warranty? Are their any know cases of anyones monitor like this dying or having problems after a while? Thanks in advance for any help

I own one and have never heard that. LG definately does not warranty these.

First, I seriously doubt that the monitor will have no warranty at all. Probably what they are referring to is Dell's "normal" warranty for systems, etc. The monitor will carry probably a "basic" warranty such as 90 days or probably one year. The info will be in the box when it comes. Dell usually backs their stuff although trying to get service from them is a real b*tch.

my 1800FP has been working perfectly since the day i got it.

btw, i went to Dell's site and couldn't find anything about the warranty, except this :

It is supported by DellTM Technical Support when used with a Dell system.

btw, IIRC, many people on AT use this particular monitor and I haven't seen many problems arise.

It has a warranty, don't worry about it.

Call Dell & ask if you want to be sure.

My 2000FP had a full transferrable warranty, & I bought it by itself.

Basically what they're saying is if it doesn't work with your system they may not be able to help you.
