It's funny, 'cause a lot of sheep on this forum like to rail about how horrible the ipod's sound quality is. Guess if I couldn't afford one I'd be jealous too.....
if you cared to read, taejin pointed out i-pod shuffles are getting more attention because they surprisingly sound good unlike their hdd-based siblings. of course sound is a subjective thing, but vast majority who had a chance to compare did give a nod to creative/rio/i-river models for sound.

did you pick the name "railer" b/c you say "rail" a lot? I just found that weird.

<snicker>
That is weird....
I hope I don't say rail a lot in everyday life.
hehe...I "discovered" the rail gun in Q3 back when I created this account. I was a lame rail whore for a few weeks back in 2000.....and I still have the stupid name...

This is all rather pointless, nobody who really cares enough to map frequency response under load would be using an ipod (or any portable player) unamped.

So 99% of portables have really crappy amps.

That's news?

Not true...I would care, but for portability purposes, I'd like the most space efficient design. Not all geeks where baggy jeans or cargo pants...I might carry around an amp if I have a bag for long trips or something, but for walking around, my V3, wallet and keys are enough as it is.

1 gig Shuffle + Shure e3c's for me soon...I think. ^_^
