Just heard it on radio free Northern Calif radio, KGO. There's an Oregon congressman pushing for impeachment. There's some book out too on this criminal court by Buggliosi or something.

I found the book author. Names Vincent Bugliosi. The title, "The Betrayal of America: How the Supreme Court Undermined the Constitution and Chose Our President".

Off the jacket:

"The court majority, after knowingly transforming the votes of 50 million Americans into nothing, and throwing out all of the Florida undervotes, actually wrote that their ruling was intended to preserve 'the fundamental right' to vote. That an election can be stolen by the highest court in the land under the deliberate pretext of an inapplicable constitutional provision has got to be one of the most frightening and dangerous events to have occurred in this country.

With his powerful, brilliant, and courageous expose of crime by the highest court in the land Vincent Bugliosi takes his place in the pantheon of patriots who have stood up and spoken out against injustice. When an article he wrote on Bush v. Gore appeared in The Nation magazine in February, 2001, it drew the largest outpouring of letters and email in the magazine's 136-year history, tapping a deep reservoir of outrage. Bugliosi's argument is here greatly expanded, amended and amplified."

...Another political quack, much like the guy who introduces legislation each year to abolish the Federal Reserve, or the distinguished Congressmen from Ohio who, during his 1-minute speeches, always says, 'Beam me up, Scotty.'

In reality I dont see this as anything new.... Politics have been a sloppy borderline criminal infested business from day 1... the only difference is now we can keep up with it... and be aware of them.

Take Kennedy's election... Kennedy recieved more votes in texas than there were registered voters.... hmmmm... odd...

Yes Bush stole the election.... does it matter? just barely under 50 percent of the country supports him.... so no it doesnt matter that much. Unless you completely disagree with his politics (like me)...

But more importantly can anything be done about it?... no...

And finaly can we harm our country by attempting to discredit our own president?... yes

Who is that? Can you give me a name? I don't recall ever hearing that about one of our congressmen. Could be a house member from a district I'm not familiar with. Well, maybe DeWine, he always struck me as being a little off.

radio free Northern California? Like a pirate radio station? So if I setup a transmitter and broadcast that the government will be dropping bundles of $100 dollar bills on every home in america, will you be standing out in your backyard with a laundry basket :p? Somtimes you've got to consider the source...

Edit: was Vincent Bugliosi the co-author of Helter Skelter? That name is familair to me, but I can't place it

Sure, Rep. Traficant, I believe it is spelled...I'll do a quick search after my smoke break. He is a real piece of work, but I like him :) Read through his speeches, especially the "vagina monologue." Great stuff...once again, he's heading to court for accepting money. The first time, he represented himself and said that the police 'thought' he was actually accepting money from the Mob, when in fact, he was conducting his own sting operation and going to make a citizen's arrest :)

...link will follow.

MrBond, Helter Skelter it was. Radio free california does not in this case refer to pirate radeo. KGO is 50,000 watts and the biggest going in No Cal. It's just that you can't hear real liberal truth like you find on KGO elsewhere in the country. One of the reasons that calif and no calif in particular is so liberal is that we actually get exposed to had have a chance to digest real information. The rest of the country is sort of like China, nothing but propaganda.

"THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES "
October 5, 2000

Broadway has announced a new play called `The Vagina Monologues.' I quote, the promo states that `Vagina Monologues uses humor and drama to explore such things as sexual fantasies, orgasms, pelvic examinations and rape.' Now if that is not enough to entice your condominium, this vaginal virtuoso is being billed as theater at its finest.

Unbelievable. What is next? Rectal Diaries? Men are dropping like flies in America from prostate cancer and Broadway is promoting vaginal titillation.

Beam me up. I advise all New York men to sleep on their stomachs, and I yield back all the STDs on the East Coast.

[edit] By the way, he delivers all these speeches on the floor each morning, so it's great to watch him omn C-Span, too...he's the clown in the 1947 green and orange plaid suit :)

Helpless, thanks for the info. Accepting bribes? My first thought was that he must be from Youngstown. Turns out he IS!

Youngstown, OH was (still is?) known as MobTown, USA. One of my college buddies lives there, apparently anyone of any age can buy alcohol due to the cops being paid off.

Moonbeam, ok, I wasn't aware Radio Free California wasn't pirate radio. The name leads to that assumption to some effect.

<< Mr. Speaker, is she or is she not? Rumors persist that Miss France is not a big-bone diva but actually a man. Reports say that pageant officials said they are anxiously awaiting the bathing suit contest. Unbelievable. Maybe J. Edgar Hoover will crown the next Miss France, Mr. Speaker.

Hey, what is next? Will they have certification standards performed by licensed gynecologists for these pageants? Beam me up. This is not brain surgery. Even the University of Dayton School of Political Science can determine human genitalia.

I yield back the fact that a proctologist should be advising these judges at this French beauty contest.

How in world did this clown get elected? Hes so useless.

SJ, read my post about youngstown (where he's from, and possibly his district). Money can buy lots of things there. Maybe even a seat in the house.

This guy's a riot. I love some of his phrases, like "If that is not enough to milk your holstein." I may have to start using that one :D

..the one about drugs and mexico was great, too, if I remember correctly ;) I have read them all and studied the guy in great depth awhile back...In fact, I used to wake-up early in college just to watch his 'one-minute speech' in the AM :)

As for getting elected, the guy has an unlimited amount of funding (you can probably guess from whom), so it's hard to wage war with the guy...and he sends the pork home like everyone else, so it's hard to bite the hand that feeds you, per say :)

MrBond, You weren't necessarily supposed to know that Radeo Free Calif wasn't pirate, I was just making a play on Radeo Free Berkeley where you can really get another perspective that's never heard. KPFA&B, left wing reality at it's finest.

edit: the final result of the recount was that gore was the intended choice of the Florida electorate.

Yeah just like the Wall Street Journal is the Right wing reality at it's finest.

I don't like people that are total partisans in any party. Since no one is ever right it means that even though you go along with the party line at least something if not everything is wrong.

Vincent Bugliosi has one of the sharpest legal minds in the country. He headed up the team that convicted Charles Manson, and later wrote a book about it. He also called the OJ verdict about three weeks into the trial, and wrote a book about that particular travesty of justice.

I would accept his take on the elections. A lot of others would not, since his take challenges their belief system and undermines their man in the White House.

the two recounts i heard about both had bush gaining margin. since he had more votes than gore in the first count that would lead me to believe he had more votes than gore in both recounts.

and then theres the almost criminal behavior of the networks, calling florida for gore while polls were still open there. the whole thing is muddied up because of that snafu. the declaring florida for bush at 3 am thing doesn't even come close to having altered the election the way the gore projection did.

Yeah, that explains the power crisis. You guys are really on top of things, all right, having digested all that information. And don't give me that crap about the big, bad Texas wolf. You screwed yourselves long before they jumped on the bandwagon. Even if you could pin all the problems on Republicans, you were still oblivious to the impending doom.

<edit: the final result of the recount was that gore was the intended choice of the Florida electorate.>

Hi, I'm planet Earth. Have we met?

If one ever needed an example to define "oxymoron" with, this would have to be right up at the top of the list...
