somehow, my power led and my hdd led doesn't work.
epox 8k7a+, raid setup (2 maxtors x 40gb). antec sx840 case.

the power led is 5 pins on the mobo, but only 3 pins on the
mobo connector.

also, i connected the hdd led connector properly, and it doesnt
light up. is this because its raid?

help!

No, not because of your array, but most likely due to improper connecting on your part. Try again--look at the board (or manual) and make sure you have everything correct--make sure the grounded leads match up, etc.

Connect the HD LED to the RAID card, and if you don't have a RAID card (built in controller) check for another LED jack for the extra IDE controllers. IDE controllers get an LED, and if you don't use the chipset's default IDE controller then using it's LED wont help.

And, the 5 pin block on the mobo for the power LED is a throwback to back when they had the keylock on their. It's the first and third pin usually... check carefully. The mobomight just have two pins in there next to each other, the last two, the third and fifth, the first and third... and + and - matter too. You just have it on wrong. Unless you managed to get a case with burnt out LED's, which is a one in a million shot.

For testing, don't worry about using the HDD LED on the power LED's pins, or vice-versa. Assuming you don't accedentally use something more powerful.
