oh no, I scratched my boss's len filter

I used my "felt tip" pen to clean a finger-print i left early today, but after a few scrubs, it left marks as seen in the attach pic. what happen? i did scratch the coating off? or the felt pen is dirty?

the filter is a Canon UV haze (Sharp Cut)

Just clean it with Windex. Crap UV filters like that aren't coated.

Those lens "pens" are pretty much crap for cleaning optical surfaces.

Get a box of Kimwipes and a bottle of R.O.R.

What? Kimwipes are bad I heard. They're made from wood and stuff.

Lens pens are the way to go for grease. But since you made a mess, go for a microfiber + IPA clean. Shrug. A lot of people on POTN forums swears by lens pens. So do I.

...I used to clean film negatives and slides with Kimwipes and cleaning solution. They're perfectly fine for lens cleaning...and they won't leave behind fuzzy particles like a microfiber will.
