The story on their site..it's quite sad inDEED
<< Dark Days !!
Well, I figured one day this might happen. It looks like Fry's has finally decided to thank me for all the hard work I have put in making their ads visible to thousands of people who might not otherwise have seen them.
What do you think they have done ? Written me a big fat check ? Given me the Fry's good citizen of the month award with it's own special parking spot ? How about a nice thank you letter ?
Nope, it's sumthin' better than that people, instead they have graciously offered to sue my ass for damages. Lucky me. Apparently, I have done them some grevious damage too, because they have told me that if I don't take my site down in ten days I'll have to pay them $100,000.
Unfortunately, I am not a lawyer and neither is my brother so this looks like the end. I have immediatley moved the site to another domain name which will hopefully eliminate the possibility of my violating the cybersquatting act (although I don't feel I have been violating it). However, it looks like that is not going to be enough because the letter alleges many other evils on my part.
Hopefully I'll get some good advice and be able to figure out what to do. If you have any ideas or suggestions let me know. >>
