randomly reboot itself after a few hours of usage. I'm running Windows XP. Oh well, looks like back to SETI for me.

nope, it happened on both my machines :-(. One of em has 3 case fans and the system temperature doesn't go above 28. One of the times it rebooted was the exact moment I switched off my monitor. strange . I think either i'm doing something wrong or it don't like XP much.

Been running it on XP for two days straight with a Intel 2.0A Not a problem. CPU Temp is 10 degrees C hotter. Are you overclocking? If so maybe cut back.

I have the exact opposite problem. My computer randomly reboots after running SETI.. so I switched to D²OL and it's been fine since. :)

Well, different DC projects will stress a CPU in different ways. I had a machine awhile back (an old dualeron that has since died completely) that would run two SETI crunchers just fine 24/7, but died when I switched to DNet. Sounds like something on that CPU is running very near it's maximum and the D2OL client stresses that part just a little more than SETI does. I agree with Carrot39 that is anything is overclocked, try cutting back a little and see if it improves.

Just a thought here but have you ever had grounding problems? I used to have major grounding and static problems in my computer room and it'd restart my machines everyonce in a while. I'd maybe check that out.
I "solved" my problem by using anti-static spray on the capet in my computer room plus use a humidifier when neccesary. I also ran dedicated Power to that room and grounded that properly(still has to check other circuits:eek:)

If you live somewhere where it is getting cold outside, make sure to start being even more aware of static electricty. It doesn't take much to ruin good components if you expose them it. Winter brings with it dryer air which aids in the build-up of static electricity. Make sure your room/rooms have proper humidity levels(humidifier) to help counter this. Also - ALWAYS make sure you are properly grounded(wrist strap & etc) when handling computer components :)

I just had an idea. Turned off auto reboot on error and shall run it overnight and see what I get in the morning.
