for asking 3 clubbers to put out their cigs in respect of the new nation wide indoor/public places smoking ban
James Oyebola, age 47, 6ft 9in was chatting with bouncers (with whom he is friends) at a club/pub owned by another friend and he asked the 3 guys, kindly, to put out their fags. a few minutes later on their way out they pulled a gun an started firing.
he was shot in the leg and point blank in the face.
he was rushed to hospital, is on life support but it is expected that he will die as he is now completely brain dead.
the 3 scumbags fled the scene, the hand gun was found near the scene.
james oyebola was the uk's heavy weight champ from 94 to 96 and won the WBC international heavy weight championship.
im sorry i dont have a link, i will try find one, but its in todays news paper "the sun"
all he was doing was reminding them of the law (which has made all pubs/clubs much nicer places to be) and for that he is now dead (as far as being a person goes) his body is still alive on life support, but i imagine once loved ones have come to say their goodbyes the machines will be switched off
EDIT: club was in fulham, i have never been there, but the papers described it as kinda upmarket. the 3 guys who shot him were all black and apparently attacked him because he "disrespected them"
