Oh my....the Ford Focus sucks!

My one neighbor has a 2002 Focus with 18k miles....and the brakes are fried!!

Her previous car was a 1999 Honda Civic....which had about 44k miles when the lease was over....and the brakes were still fine.

Sounds like Ford is using a bad design or very cheap parts.

Brakes as in rotors/discs, or brakes as in brake pads??? If brake pads, I blame the driver...

Why? The same driver was driving both cars with drastically different brake life.

While I realize that the Focus sucks big time, stuff does happen. Not all brake pads are identical. She could have gotten a poor set. To blame the Focus for that is dumb.

I have seen a lot of new cars with problems. Whether it be a Honda or a Ford.

Instead of using this as an excuse for car bashing, how about putting things in perscpetive first.

focus may or may not SUCK but your reason for saying it does SUCKS.

let me give you another example, my dad bought an '88 honda accord the same year i bought a Mustang LX 5.0. He changed 3 clutches before in 3 years and in the 6 years i owned that mustang, NO work on the clutch at all.

does that automatically mean the Honda Accord SUX??

NO, if you knew that model of honda you'd now that it was extremely low on torque and geared HIGH in first so you HAD to ride the clutch to have a smooth take off.

the 'Stang on the other hand had a CLUTCH that was like STEEL and had WAY to much torque so i never needed to ride the clutch.

wouldn've mattered. if i had driven that honda i'd probably have gone thru MORE clutches.

My grandmother has a focus that I was driving for a while. It had 2000 miles on it, and the AC had to be replaced TWICE.

Also, the passanger side-view mirrior fell off of the car.

if your thinking about getting a ford focus just get a '02 civic instead. it looks just like the focus from the back and wont break apart like the ford

And the Dealer fixed the last Mechanical Recall in less time than it takes to change the oil.
