This is absolutly incredible. I just sold my Abit KT7-Raid, and picked up "The best socket a mobo" EDIT:MSI K7T Pro-2A (According to Anandtech, and a few others) And it seems to be very slow accessing the harddrive. This was very disturbing. It was working fine on my KT7...

My HD is an IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30GB
I just built another, it has a 46GB 75GXP. Same problem.

SEE IT FOR YOURSELF

My suspicion turned out to be true. BIG PROBLEM.
WHY IS IT DOING THIS???

HELP!!!

EDIT: So we figured it out. Needed the new beta via 4-in-1's. She's a beaut now... Gratzi

Yea... you need to enable Ultra DMA Mode 5, install 4-in-1 4.26/27 beta to enable ATA100.

The problem you had before is probably due to the lack of support of ata100 rom VIA. the 4.26 and 4.27 solved the problem I guess. I am glad that you have a happy machine now :)
