<< FARM AID 2000
When Willie Nelson takes the stage this Sunday at Farm Aid 2000,
he'll have a guest musician sitting behind the drum kit -- Tipper
Gore. The wife of Vice President and presidential candidate Al
Gore got her musical start in high school, playing the drums in
an all-girls' band known as the Wildcats. "We salute Tipper for
giving so generously of her time and sharing our commitment to
saving America's family farms," said Nelson. "...Her dedication
will go a long way in our fight for family farmers and I am proud
to share the stage with her." The lineup for Farm Aid's 15th
anniversary concert at the Nissan Pavilion in Prince William
County, Va., includes Farm Aid founders Nelson, Neil Young and
John Mellencamp -- along with Barenaked Ladies, Crosby Stills
Nash & Young, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Sawyer Brown, Arlo
Guthrie, North Mississippi Allstars, Jimmy Sturr, Shannon Curfman
and Pat Green. CMT: Country Music Television will air the concert
as a live eight-hour special (2-10 p.m. EDT). A tape-delayed ver-
sion will also air on CMT Canada and be Webcast by RollingStone.com.
In addition, live updates will be broadcast on FarmAid.com. >>
Damn... I'm gonna have to find another instrument to master now. Yes, that's cool that she's a drummer. But she also married Al.
*ouch*
