Oh. My. God! Buried in Time on GoG!

Aye, getting the same crash on Win 7 32-bit...

Any luck?

Edit: Damn -- http://www.gog.com/en/forum/journeyman_project_2/crashes_when_trying_to_save_restore/_/3

No solution yet it seems, hopefully gog looks into it... Woke up early with girlfriend still asleep just to play this too, doh!

I submitted a support request to GoG myself. This is kinda a big deal if you want to actually play Buried in Time. Its not a game you can play without the ability to save, wrong decisions can actually permanently stop the player character from progressing.

I'll try some of the fixes in the thread and report back tonight.

Edit - No go.

Gonna try set up Windows 98 SE in Virtual Box, still have my old CD and key. Nostalgia.

I setup Windows Virtual PC in XP mode and it seems to be doing the trick. Just in case I installed to C: \ JP2 (like the thread on gog.com recommended) and everything seems to be working. Of course, I would prefer to play it outside of Virtual PC, but until then this will do fine. I'll just copy over the save game if/when they do fix it for Vista/Win7.

To Bateluer and anyone else who downloaded from GOG..

It seems they finally fixed it:

The GOG employee has a link in the last post to a rapidshare file that you just have to overwrite files within your installation.

The main game download on their site isn't updated yet, so this is the only way to get it fixed for now.

Most excellent, was playing mine in a Win2k Virtual Box. Didn't get very far.

Would like to see JP1 and 3 up as well, would buy both. JP1 was one of the very first PC games I ever played, came bundled with an old Packard Bell Pentium 75Mhz machine.

Edit - I have no idea where my JP3 DVDs are. I bought the game years ago when it was released, but I never added the DVDs to my master binder for some reason. Since then, I've moved several times, did stint in the military, shuffled through 3 different apartments, multiple states, and moved into a house. If I'm lucky, next time I'm at my parents house, I'll have to see if I can find them. Or I could just DL some ISOs, I suppose.

Journeyman Project was FANTASTIC! I used to replay the Iceteroid Space Station all the time just because it was such a joy to my sci-fi geek side.

Definitely going to pick this up, thanks guys.

Pretty sure I still have the original disc for JP1, but JP2 is indeed buried in time. I never played JP3.
