A few minutes into the speech, it seems like Slick Willy has thus far pulled all the stops he could.

I'm fucking shocked.

I remember before the convention people were floating idiotic ideas like Hillary was somehow going to revolt at the DNC and it was going to be chaos. I can't believe anyone actually considered that as even the most remote possibility.

Great speech like usual he is one awesome public speaker. I would vote for him over Obama or Hillary in a second. With a republican congress I would vote for bill clinton in a heart beat.

That was a great speech... he totally demolished McCain's primary argument against Obama. I mean by the end he was pretty much just laughing at him.

And in real life I have blond hair and blue eyes, I'm uber-whitey. Maybe my avatar and I have some sort of deep symbolism about the coming together of races to support the first black candidate in history. Or maybe I was drunk when I signed up for this and thought it was funny.

I listen to Glenn Beck, Rush L, and Hannity throughout the day. They are non-stop beating the drum about all the "dissention" in the D party, claiming the Ds are falling apart because they can't control Bill Clinton, Ds are afraid of what he might say etc. Total dishonest BS, but I'm sure the rightwingers lap it up like the gospel.

The right is trying to create an issue where none exists, the left is pretty unified and strong I think, other than the few Clinton supporters who are butthurt.

I don't know why people are in shock at all. Public speaking has always been BC's strong point. The dude could sell glasses to a blind man. Public speaking is his strength and the reason he was elected in the first place.

Rated on the Bill Clinton scale of speaking though, tonight was an 8. He's done much better.

Sure at the convention they are united. If they were outside the convention Obama would be up by 15 points or more. This race should be a blow out but Obama's complete lack of experience and party unity have kept it close.

Hogwash. What's kept it close is the media's desire to portray it as such, the fact that Obama is black, and the usual repub tsunami of slime...

Missed the speech, unfortunately... anybody have a link to it?

Us DEMONCRATS who have been following the news and stuff, are shocked that Slick Willy didn't draw any blood from biting his lip while he delivered the really fucking phenomenal and enthusiastic speech. It's pretty shocking.

Uhh, K.

I don't use the terms Demoncrat or Repuglican. That's used by the hacks in here. I voted for BC too. Twice. imo, having public speaking skills is as important, if not moreso, than having political savvy. BC had speaking skills i spaces so it superceded any of his International or Domestic paux pas, which were manu.

However, what the BDS crew have never grasped is that Bush actually does have some political savvy. No more or less than Clinton. His public speaking skills suck though. That's the only real difference.

Spin it any way you want, TLC. The real difference between Clinton and Bush is that Billy-bob delivered what he promised, for the most part, even with a hostile congress, and that Georgie didn't, even with congress in the palm of his hand...

In the wake of 9/11, Bushco exploited the politics of Bullying and Fear adroitly, for sure. Problem is, it leaves a bitter and persistent aftertaste...

For a guy you claim is politically savvy, approval ratings hovering around 30% tell a different story. Clinton's never fell so low...
