Oh My - Asus A7N266-VM owners look at this

Just looking at the Asusboards.com forum and found good info about a mod to release the potential of this mobo!
Seems that they put a link in where a jumper would go on the other boards, changing the config of the link and updating bios makes it so you can adjust fsb & mem ratio.
I need to find the source of this & check it out some more asap!

I have an A7A266, should be similar, been running 147 FSB without modding anything, is it possible to go up towards 180 with this mod???
 
NWM - lemme know what you come up with, i'm thinking of picking up one of these boards w/xp2200 😀
 
I've got an A7N266-e. great overclocker if you've got the right memory. 181 is the highest FSB setting on that board too. probably the bios they are loading (1004, I think is the latest) I've got an XP1600+ running 1789Mhz (~XP2200) on that board

Hmm, I wonder what? I've had this one since it first came out, the serial number is EVAL. I was able to flash update the BIOS when I relaced the original 1 Gig Athlon with the XP1600+ a couple of months ago when they went on sale for $50. It's been running at 1.54 Gig ever since with no problem and only old PC2100 128 Meg Mem stick.

The machine was a dog when I had the old ATI Rage Pro in it, also got a Nvdia MX440 at the same time as the 1600 and was able to play games like UT2K3 for the first time.

Your board has the ALi chipset if I remember rightly ,the A7N266 has the Nvidia chipset ,I very much doubt that mods applied to that would work with yours🙁
