yea .. i agree that a cellphone is fine telling time ... but if you have to put your cellphone away while you work... you can wear a watch to tell time ... thats why im getting one ..

Yes but when you are in a meeting with the client, looking at your watch is less obvious than looking at the cell phone...

Furthermore you can't have the phone on during plane rides

Yeah, my mom had to work 2 jobs at one time when my dad got laid off from research. She did jewelry for her second job and wanted to get a $2-3,000 watch for me because she could get it for 75% off. I told her not to get it. It is just a show piece for the people too boring and uninteresting to impress people otherwise. Plus, it is a total waste of money for my folks to spend that much, at least back then when things got rough.

I watch my good friend's friends try to impress people by dressing extremely nice and wearing the right stuff. It is too annoying. I dress nice, but I don't need to go overboard when I go out for a bite to eat with my friends.

Cell phone FTW.

If it was really to tell time, and for functionality guys who buy watches would get digital watches. Cheaper and more functional. But it is a fashion statement.

yer on the plane? Why do you need to look at the watch...its not like you can get off... yer there until you land. Then you can use yer cell phone.
