My trainer has me working out about 3 hours a day now :( (1 hour of cardio in the morning, 1 hour in the evening, and 1 hour of weights). My ipod gets me through it! Yum allofmp3 + ipod.

That is all. And yes, I would like a :cookie:.

Stupid question:
Can you use "plain" mp3s in your iPod, or does it have to be the "iTunes .mp3 (encrypted) format"?

If it's not compatible typically itunes will convert it.

Sweet, thanks! My parents want to get my little brother a mini iPod and I'm not too keen about it (because I'm not getting one :p)

Why are you working out so much (other than health reasons) -- are you going to run a marathon or summit?

Got a year off from school at the moment, so trying to bulk up a bit more :)

Kewl. Well, keep it up because once you hit the magic 25, your metabolism will start slowing down and you're going to need all the exercise you can get o_O

Not that there's anything wrong with hearty and plump people :) ;)

The ipod mini is really nice, I bought my mom one. But with the amount I work out I doubt the size would be sufficient for me.

who are these people with iPod battery problems? I've had mine for 3 years and have yet to have an issue with it in terms of battery life.

I like being "hearty" and "plump." They should make a gameshow... loose 20 pounds and you get a free iPod... then i'd loose weight!

You can actually replace the battery in your iPod. To open one up you need to slide a fine blade in between the metal and plastic in two positions, one about an inch from the bottom and the other about an inch from the top. The metal back then pops off (while you're at it might as well get it polished professionaly) and the battery unplugs. You can replace them with higher capacity batteries too, so you'll get even more life out of them.

Not 100% sure about the iPod Mini disassembly procedure, but I shouldn't imagine it'll be that different. I'll probably do the above service in a year maybe (my iPod is 18 months old) if the battery starts to looks like it's giving up, although it's going strong now.

Make sure you don't just go ahead and start taking your iPod apart from what I've just said, have a google around and get a set of step-by-step photographic instructions!

The iPod can take any MP3 file, even ones with variable bitrates, and it doesn't require conversion or anything.

i'm someone w/ battery problems. i've had my mini for about 8 months and it no longer holds a charge. i work out 4-5 times a week, so my ipod gets plenty of use. still though, it's ridiculous that i have to replace the battery after just 8 months.

i don't believe I had a battery problem, more like the actual circuitry went kaput... just randomly one day, my ipod mini refused to charge.. and then upon attempting to reset it, it died right out. from the apple status, I think I'm getting a brand new one.

It'll play any mp3 file, and does not convert it to anything unless you want it converted.

I would not even try to take apart an ipod mini, I read an article on iPod Lounge by an industrial engineer who kept trying to put it together afterward. Supposedly its so packed in there, it's near impossible to reassemble. But the regulars should be ok.
