I knew it all along. They are only a part of the political infrastructure, like Russia, but not a part of the military structure. If their role is soley political. Why the phuk are they blocking military equipment to be sent to Turkey as a defensive mean? While the Germans are trying to find a place in this world by going against this current campaign, the french have always behaved like this. The more I learn about the french, the more they confirm the stereotype of being sissies

What I don't get is why some people are so anti-France here. Well, their government has their own, maybe different, policy on the current worldwide issues. Isn't it OK?

yeah, in 1966. I wonder if that means that we don't have to help them out if someone decides to take over their country.

Hahahah not AGAIN... We would probably help them out and they would go back to hating us, seriously, the only decent leader they ever had was Napoleon (the original) if he wasn't so ill, we might all be speaking french right now...

Somehow I don't think they expect any such help, maybe that's what they protest against.

I heard somewhere that napoleon was really itialian. can anyone confirm this? if it's true, then an itialian took over france and the french knew no better.

Wasn't Napolean Corsican? Not quite French.

Much like JLo is Puerto Rican...not quite American. :)

Not when their concern with the Iraqi situation is their huge oil contracts. They couldn't care less about the dangers Saddam represents and the past atrocities he's committed.

No, because it shows how stupid they are and how they don't learn from history.

We're allowed to insult nations that are stupid and don't learn from history.

Well this is your opinion. However, it's a tend nowadays not to like France. Strange, I don't understand. I read on BBC news that a every night a bunch of illegal immigrants try to leave France undetected and run to the UK. After they're caught, they're asked: "Why didn't you just stay in France, why cross the border illegally?" They say how bad it's for them there. Personally, I think France is really cool. Of course, I, unfortunately, never been there but I wouldn't mind to if I had a chance.

well you are misinformed. The reason why illegal immigrants want to reach GB is simply because you don't need any id or other legal documents to get a job. This is not the case in all other European countries. It has nothing to do with France being nasty to them. GB is heaven for illegal immigrants because they can have a job without having a work permit and so on.

And yes, they try to get to GB through the chunnel (by foot or by getting into trailers). They already stopped immigrants on foot who were more then 10 km in the service tunnel. The French have closed a big illegal immigrants centre (Sangatte) close to the chunnel to stop them.

Yeah, they do and if they don't beat the train it gets really really messy.

Did you hear about the new french tanks?
They have 5 gears....4 in reverse, and one forward gear just in case they're attacked from behind!

They are also getting a rear view mirror, so they can see the battle.

How many Frenchman does it take to defend Paris

Don't know never been tried.

I know alot of people don't like the French for the simple
reason they are so easy to forget why there are 10,000
Americans buried over there.

If it wasn't for the US they would be speaking German.

If it weren't for France the U.S. would still be British.

Yea you heard it from me in another France thread. He was about 4 when France acquired Corsica from Italy. So Napoleon is 100% Italian.
