Finally after 2yrs of Alltel screwing us month after months our contract is over. Thanks god. Unfortunately though I need a new phone and plan. I think I like used car shopping better.

So here is what I need:
Familly plan with Unlimited minutes, text or close to it. And a data plan I guess for the 1 phone.
Like to have one smart phone for me. Iphone, Touch, Storm.. Whatever...
2nd phone won't need to be to sophisticated. My wife will be using it.

Currently paying ~$110/mo and would like to lower it if possible..

Any idea's? Please don't make me go talk to a cell phone salesman. :)

You want two lines of unlimited minutes for less than $110 an month? Good luck with that. You are going to have to be a bit more flexible on either the minute requirement or the price. Only unlimited plans I am familiar with are the $100 single lines but you can't add any additional lines to them. With Sprint you can get 2 lines of unlimited everything for $190. Do you really need unlimited minutes or would an amount covered in other plans be able to cover you?

Unless you mean unlimited minutes between the 2 phones. AT&T gives unlimited mobile to mobile minutes with almost all of their plans.

Pretty much everyone does that. Verizon and Sprint I know do, not sure about T-Mobile.

I've had T-Mobile for almost 7 years now. My only complaint is the slow rollout of 3G, but that's going now. Their plans are by FAR the cheapest of the big carriers. I pay $39.99 for 1000 anytime minutes and unlimited NW. I'm not as familiar with their family plans though.

For a smartphone, I have the G1 and love it - they also have the usual compliment of Blackberry and WM phones.

I thought T-Mobile required the data plan with the G1, Deeko.

Yes, I have a data plan and text messaging plan on top of it - I was just referring to what I pay for the voice plan. I have the "combined" G1 data plan, which is really just a bundle of the $19.99/unlimited data and $14.99/unlimited text, both of which are pretty reasonable & at or below the cost of competing carriers.

As for plans I couldnt say.
Two people with unlimited minutes is going to cost you a little something.
If you wanna get a PDA phone I HIGHLY recommend unlimited data. You will use, I promise.
Between email, GPS and web browsing it will get used.

For phones I usually recommend http://www.infosyncworld.com/.
Their reviews are pretty brutal but thats a good thing. They dont give false praise.

According to them only the Nokia N95 8GB NAM is better than the iPhone.
BUT, they dont write as if they were Apple fanboi's.
