So, apparently, cameras will soon be installed at my place of employment.......at each location.......not that I have anything to hide, but I feel, violated?

The vet that I volunteer at has cameras everywhere. It's a tiny place too. The vet is a really old guy who is paranoid.
It does feel strange walking around.

I just got done installing cameras where i work. Here is what i learned.

1. The people that walk around and dont do anything are the ones that ask a whole bunch of questions
2. The people that come in do work and go home and have nothing to hide could care less if there are cameras.

We have a lot of equipment and inventory here, its to protect that stuff not spy on people. But to try and explain that you might as well be talking to a wall.

If you feel violated, then you have something to hide.

It is your employers place of business, and they have every right to protect their assets.

Don't like it? Go work somewhere else.

Unless you have something to hide (like slacking off, not doing work, goofing off) ... it shouldn't impact you at all.

Is it not ok to sit at work and do the occasional nose pick or crotch adjustment? Maybe he doesn't want that on film for all of history.

If you're standing up in the middle of the floor to adjust your crotch... then walk 5 more feet to the bathroom and do it. If your company has cameras under your desk, that's another issue altogether.

As for nose picking... eww.. use a tissue.
who gives a crap if it's on camera.

Most everywhere has cameras anymore, in my office we have over a dozen, only 2 of them are "visible" even...the rest are hidden in exit signs, fake motion sensors, etc. Nobody cares, even the people who don't know where they are don't really care...we're here to work but if something were to happen having it on video certainly can be a good thing, video is impartial.

We put in cameras at almost every section of the school I work at, and the for some unknown reason the installers put the IP right on the camera. So now all of the students are writing down the IP's, then typing it into their browsers and watching people.

Just in case my employer has a camera under my desk, I occasionally wear my crotchless underwear and cross and uncross my legs.

im really hoping youre female.

im not paranoid about being on cameras, most of what i do is in restricted, monitored areas of govt facilities as it is.

so post the ip of the camera, so ATOT can watch it as well.

That reminds me what happened a few years ago with NetAxis network cameras installed everywhere. You could google the index page URL and find literally 1000s of them installed and watch everything from loading luggage on planes to hospital parking lots! Amazing they gave them public or DMZ addresses and no password on that page!

Of course today few if any of them exist that are wide open.
