I don't give a shit what it's called as long as it's good.

I find it funny though how bias I am based on when I grew up.

There are so many people that get a hard-on for Sean Connery being the best Bond... Personally since I grew up during his time... it just felt like Pierce Brosnan fit the role the best IMO. Obviously some bias there I'm guessing.

Also Goldeneye the movie + Goldeneye the videogame were hands down the best. No exceptions!

Pierce Brosnan only had one good movie though. The rest were hot garbage. ....and even going back and watching Goldeneye...eh, it's not really much better than Timothy Dalton's stuff or even the crappiest of crappy pedophile Roger Moore's stuff (his Bond was pedo; not Roger Moore himself).

I guess I started with Dalton (TLD was the first I saw in the theater), but really grew up with Connery and Moore, because we had friends that had just about every movie on Laser Disc and VHS, and would loan us piles of flicks to watch in summers when we had nothing else to do. Our checklist was always filled with older Bond movies.

If there is No time to die... and Tomorrow never dies... then what does that mean?

Also Daniel Craig is the worst bond ever IMO. Looks nothing like the others and just simply looks like an old man.

He's the 3rd best, after Connery and Lazenby. Casino Royale is like, top 3 of Bond flicks:

and lol if you think he looks like an old man compared to Roger Moore. ...but I think he is pretty old for when he started his Bond run, but then again I think Pierce Brosnan was pretty damn old (basically 15-20 years after people were already hoping he would be Bond--Remington Steele days), and Dalton was pretty damn old, too. Brosnan probably looks younger, but Moore and Dalton looked older to me.

Spectre ruined Daniel Craig's bond. Tried too hard to tie back to the previous movies. Christopher Waltz was awful as blofeld.

How many times are they going to use the word 'Die' for James Bond movie titles?
Live and Let Die
Tomorrow never Dies
Die Another Day

I predict the next Bond movie after this one will have either the word 'Kill' or 'Gold' in it.
Or both...

Die Killing Gold Today

Craig is 2nd best Bond. Also, Brosnan would have been a perfect Bond if the writing wasn't so crappy. He suffered from "Perfect actor, terrible script" syndrome. Henry Cavill suffered the same fate as Superman

I haven't seen a Craig movie yet but he has to be better than The Sean. Sean Connery simply can't act. I liked him in The Man Who Would Be King but it wasn't great acting. Connery is the Clutch Cargo of Bonds, a cardboard and popsicle stick figure with a moving mouth.

I just don't like the new movies as they take themselves too seriously. The story lines are meant to be over the top and villains ridiculous. Casino Royale was decent but after that I was out.

Trailer #2:

Bond is no longer 007. (He quit at the end of the last movie.)
his replacement is a female!

Lashana Lynch's Nomi is the new 007!
Spinoff with future 007 movies based on her?

edit:
also, Henry Cavill (Superman, Witcher) is the current odds favorite to be the next James Bond.

Timothy Dalton perfectly matched my mental image of Bond but he was stuck with lame movies.

I actually like Roger Moore the best myself with Sean Connery a close second. (yes I know he's really the Saint)

Far as being accurate to the novels go I'd say Craig's "Bond" comes the closest to being the ruthless killer portrayed by Ian Fleming.

I guess its time to bring up this issue again.
James Bond was based loosely on the author himself, Ian Fleming. And Ian Fleming was not a nice man. He was a mean cold scary bastard who did mean cold scary things during the war to keep the Nazis from destroying England. The most realistic interpretation of the book James Bond is from Daniel Craig, minus the wise-cracks.

It was Sean Connery who decided to make him "cute" and nobody argued.

Pierce Brosnan was my 100% image of Bond, but same deal...Goldeneye was good but the rest of the movies were garbage.

[edit- just realized this was an old post and I repeated myself :D ]

The first movie with any actor is generally good, usually a refreshing change of pace if nothing else.
Sean Connery was a refreshing change of pace from all the crappy movies before him.

exactly. Brosnan should have been perfect...but he was garbage. Well, the films were garbage. and when you go back. Goldeneye really isn't all that good. It's great for its time, but it's really just better than other Brosnan flicks, obviously, and the pervy pedo Moore flicks like FYEO....

Craig is perfect. Connery is "the best" because it's Connery.

Lazenby is great because he's Bond in the best Bond film ever. It just is, and there he is, as Bond. Then Connery and Craig. Connery only had like, 2 really good Bond flicks (FRWL and Goldfinger...Thunderball isn't terrible). The rest are pretty much trash.

Craig is a great Bond in one excellent Bond film, an OK one, and some really good ones.

Dalton should have gotten more. Well, he could have, but he was all fuck this shit. He was better than Brosnan as Bond. and TLD was excellent. LTK wasn't bad, just strange plot for a Bond film of that time, but I mean, today's perspective, they can be pretty much anything.

The next Bond villain should be Gilbert Gottfried. Maybe people will go to the movie just to watch him die.

Oh man. Plot: a criminal fascist becomes president of the US, steals the election and the re-election, and Bond kills him to save the world. I'd pay to watch.

I think a lot of us really wanted Pierce Brosnan to be Bond, feeling he was born for the part, were disappointed when he wasn't and excited when he finally was - and then disappointed, much worse than we hoped.

There's some interesting history on possible Bonds. Patrick McGoohan was offered the part; I don't think he likely would have been too good. I think Robert Conrad was also, that could have been good.

Daniel Craig is not a movie star, he's James Bond. Generally his non-Bond films tank at the box office. He threatens to quit so that they give him a raise. He won't go anywhere as long as they keep paying him because nobody else is going to give him that kind of cash to do stuff like Logan Lucky.

You didn't like him in Cowboys and Aliens?
