Oh dear...

...$70/mo for 2mbps down

Not that bad...

...10gb of bandwidth and $15 for each additional gb. And its enforced.

That's bad.

For my job (Air Traffic Controller)...

My class was given a list and we pick our 1, 2, 3 choices. There were a lot of good choices on the list, but I'm a young single guy so the married families get priority for the nice site over me. So I made this my #1 choice so I can at least choose where I'm going rather than waste my choices competing with others...

Fort Nelson, BC.

Yes its too late to change.

are you military? I don't know how it is in Canada but in the U.S., ATC is a pretty sweet job. Nice pay, fixed hours.

as an instrument rated pilot I thank you for your service 🙂

No, civvy.

It's a good job. I'm actually a Flight Service Specialist but I don't like explaining it because no one understands what it is 😀

It was partially sarcastic. I could live with it given its up north, its the bandwidth that's a massive problem.

That sucks. Satellite?
Surely that would be worse.

In speed, yes, but does satellite have bandwidth caps?
He'd probably pay over $100/month for 1 Mbps or less. Even if it didn't, I don't think it'd be worth it.

Not to mention the initial costs of the equipment. Last time I looked that was pretty expensive too.
