Hey guys, i think i screwed something up here. After failing to install linux (mandrake 7.2), i am unable to boot into windows anymore. After the system tests the memory, it gives the message "stage 1" and then completely stalls while trying to access the a: drive even though there's no disk in it. I think it's trying to get into the OS loading program because when i installed linux before it would say "stage 1 stage 2" then load into the boot program. I tried creating a windows boot disk but i can't load windows and it give sme an error message for some reason! Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks

You can start by repairing the master boot record by using the fdisk command: fdisk /mbr
Then copy the system files froma floppy back to the harddrive: sys a:\ c:

Of course you will have to have a bootable floppy for all of this to work. You can make one on any win9x machine.

This will only work for win9x. If you are running win2k, just use the startup disks to repair the win2k install.
