Long story short. I work in the upper management of this pharma company in Queens. One of our major project got screwed up real bad and the client we are handling it for will surely make the shit hit the fan for us screwing it up.
Any efforts to salvage the fucked up project failed so thoroughly and futiely, that all the key people of the project fled like rats leaving a sinking ship.
Again long story short, we decided that we needed a scapegoat to heap the blame for the failure on a surefire sucker who was willing to walk into the trap. So we decided upon a plan to hire the first moron willing to walk himself into the mess left behind.
Apparently one idiot did apply and we gave him a call within an hour of receiving his application on the 10th of this month.
We faked an interview for that poor guy with an hiring manager and he was suckered into believing that he did well. The poor slob even sent a thank you mail a few hours after the interview.
Then on the 14th, we made him rush down to another 'interview' with a VP. He was a few minutes late that, but we pretended to forgave him after all you got to give a man time to hang himself with the rope we are just giving him. The idiot was even told that the hiring manager was fond of him and he was the only guy who made it to the second round of the gladiator games...errr the interview process.
To top it all, we even threw in the promise of an exclusive office for himself with a window wall. The last guy who occupied with was the project manager of the failed project and that guy is still in hospital after trying suicide by jumping through that window and breaking his legs.
To top it all, we are going to make him wait till the end of the month for our congratulations call for him joining as the manager of the doomed project. As far as jobs are concerned, I'm pretty sure this one will end his career for good in any half decent company as manager of any sort. By the end of next year, this guy gonna be flipping burgers for his living because his name will be untouchable. I feel so sorry for him because I can just imagine this person boasting around his family and friends that how well liked he was during the interview process.
