OGR Opportunity Costs :)

You say you know we're going down in OGR? You say you don't know what to do about it? Take a look at this:

RC5/OGR opportunity costs:

OC ...... Processor
Better at RC5 (lower)
1.02 .... G4
2.05 .... Pentium MMX
2.12 .... PowerPC 604
2.15 .... PowerPC 603
2.33 .... Cyrix 6x86
2.45 .... Athlon
2.46 .... Ppro/P2/P3/Celeron?
2.70 .... G3
3.82 .... K6
3.88 .... K6-2
3.88 .... K6-3
Better at OGR (higher)
2.78 .... Average

Notice how much of a lead the K6 processors have on the others? They're as good at OGR as G4s are on RC5!

So, if you have a K6 in your herd doing RC5 now, get measuring 'cause K6s Rule! 😉

P.S. For those who want to know, here's the GF/OGR OCs. I'm not going to do a table for OGR/SETI since SETI's speed variations have me confused...

OC ...... Processor
Better at GF (lower)
0.25 .... Pentium MMX
0.27 .... Athlon
0.32 .... Ppro/P2/P3/Celeron?
0.35 .... K6-2
0.35 .... K6-3
0.36 .... Cyrix 6x86
0.41 .... K6
Better at OGR (higher)
0.33 .... Average

So if you have an original K6 doing GF, OGR's better for it, too!
