OGG is better at lower bitrates such as ~150Kbps, but AAC is better at ~300Kbps. IMO OGG is the overall better codec. For serious listening with those Senny headphones, I'd recommend using MPC with the -insane switch. This will result in ~220-230Kbps bitrate files (>240Kbps for complex material, <210Kbps for easier material), but you'd be hardpressed to tell the difference between them and the original material

And as a bonus, it's 100% open and patent/royalties-free.

anyone knows of a good AAC encoder? also, does anyone even have flaac.dll for the freaking cdex to use? i dont have a compiler.. grrr.

From that site:

14 song CD, Compressed size: 413mb, Compression ratio: 0.5296... not very useful to archive 500+ CD's.
