This thread is currently listed in OT with 155 replies -Ornery being the last. Whenever I go into the thread, I don't see his post. The last person I see who replied is BenSkywalker. I cleared cache and cookies, restarted my browser, and it's still showing up the same way. Is this a new FT4 feature where you can block people from seeing your replies? I can't find my ignore list, but I know he's not on it...

I'm not sure if this is actually resolved; I doubt Ornery's posts have been hidden by a mod (although anything is possible). I was talking with NFS4 about this earlier... all of Ornery's posts disappeared from that thread and we were both like WTF?

You doubt Ornery's posts have been hidden by a mod, and yet all his posts in that thread have disappeared - which describes the new moderator feature quite well?

Heh...

yea, mods just delete threads now, they used to edit your post and give a warning for offensive material, now its just gone...

Exactly, that was my point... Ornery is an Elite member and although he is sometimes surly :)P) I certainly haven't seen anything from him lately that would have gotten him banned.

Of course, I could have totally missed some thread where he listed a long line of expletives directed at the mods; that's why I said "anything's possible".

It was the hidden posts feature, I can put that to rest for you. Once enabled for a user noone sees his posts but himself.

Is this something that is enacted by the user himself or by a member of authority?

:Q Its like being the invisible man! I guess its like a ban-ishment rather than an actual banning. It happened to some guy who kept starting flame wars in various forums about AMD and Intel; well, maybe he got banned, but all his posts disappeared.

Weird.

Zuni...do the mods let the person know before they do it and is it permanent? Is it global or limited to a particular thread?

I don't do it, neither do users :) It's a moderator feature, how the moderators deal with user notification i have no idea.

Ugh! A new feature that will take some time getting use too. Unfortunately Ornery's posts were hidden inadvertently. It has now been resolved.
