edit: not that Duke looks like they know what to do with those 14 minutes, but it's still a long way to go.

2d edit: Mizzou's lead down to 12, under 9 minutes.

Good run by Memphis, Mizz getting some calls their way though.

No one can deny how well Missouri has played defence. It's unfortunate that Memphis caught them on a hot streak at the offensive end as well. 58% shooting tonight!

I think Memphis will come back. They suck at shooting free throws, something like 12/24 right now but the momentum is in their favor although they're working against the clock now.

58% shooting arises from their defensive play; turn-overs turn into easy baskets. When Mizzou is forced to go half-court, their offensive effectiveness plummets.

Yea you're right, their defense definitely leads to easy baskets but it also seems like everything else has gone in as well like Carroll's hook shots.

Lol c-usa cupcake schedule will get you a 1 or 2 every year but once again no national title. What happened to that stout defense? Mizzou could end up in triple digits!

Memphis can't help that their Conference USA schedule is so soft, but if coach Cal wants a title he's going to have to find some major conference teams to mix into the second half of his season. Memphis needs some battle hardening going into the tournament.

Yah I know they can't help that the schedule is soft but they do need to do something. You just can't get tourney ready playing cupcakes for 2 months. But hey, you're at least gifted the sweet 16 every year!

i dont get to watch too many memphis games throughtout the year, but it seems to be they are way overrated and overhyped the last couple of seasons.

They did make it to the FINALS last year. Great game today by Mizzou though, it'll be really interesting to see them play UConn who didn't look that great today but has been solid all tournament long.

Wow Nova dominated.

Missouri was getting into the lane at will, I didn't see any defence from Memphis. If I had seen Missouri play before I probably would have picked them to win this game and still picked either to lose to UConn. Now however I don't think it's a sure thing for the Huskies on Saturday. Tyreke Evans is still a beast though.

Memphis didn't lose because of MO's defense, that's for sure. Memphis played like total shit in the 1st half, had no intensity, they looked like they toked up before the game. It certainly was not the same team that destroyed Maryland. If Memphis had played with the intensity they eventually had in the second half, we would have won.

But if's don't matter. Memphis overall had a good season, and I'm disappointed they lost tonight, sure, but I'm not feeling as bad as I did last year. Look out for Memphis next year. If John Wall decides to come here, might as well mark us down for an NCAA Championship.

Any team with good talent that is given a free ride to the sweet 16 thanks to a 1 or 2 seed will probably eventually make it to the finals. Last years Memphis team had an achilles heal, free throws, that would have been exposed more than a couple of times in a major conference schedule. This probably would have resulted in them having more losses, a lower seed, and less probability of making the finals due to the lower seed.
