I was flipping around channels this morning and started watching women's curling - the US vs. Norway - and couldn't leave it until it was over. Last night it was the same thing with the women's biathlon. You can get drawn into some of the strangest sports during the Winter Olympics.

We kicked ass in Mens Curling, despite the coach's son being on the team and messing up A LOT

twice in a row all he had to do was get the stone anywhere on the target, first time would have assured 2 points, but he missed. then with the last stone (the hammer) he totally missed it, when it passed the outermost target it was still going full speed! so we got no points that time. Damn Coaches son

<----knows too much about curling after last night :)

I hate to say it...but I love all the olympic events.

curling can actually be fun to watch.

To me that's what is great about the games...you get to see the best in the world in sports you may not be aware of. So you are watching the absolute best spectactle or demonstration of that sport.

tonight - figur skating, woman's snowboarding half pipe and men's 500m speed skating.

Whats great about the olympics:

:music:Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.:music:

And here is the chinese...

Showing that "you don't frickin' quit, ever" spirit that the douche Qwan coudn't muster.

Well done....well done.

Nice performance, not medal worthy - but shows what the olympics are about. You frickin' finish.

Same here. 'Gutsy' performance as far as figure skating goes. It would've been easy to just quit after that big tumble.

I believe is Kwan not Qwan.

Anyways, I think she did the right thing in letting another person take her place to compete. She physically couldn't perform, so made the tough decision to step down.

Oh, she's a great athelete.

But a drama queen does not an olympic champion make. If she really wanted it she would have done it.

A "pulled groin?"

c'mon, anybody who has EVER competed in sports has pulled a groin. Yes, it sucks...and gee....it hurts, it hurts badly. Stretch it out, warm it up and do what you came here to do. I know it is tight girl, but jeez-o-peet, you don't just give up and quit. Most would literally kill to be in the position that she was in.

sorry, I've been in "championship" games before (of course not on this level) with a severely pulled glut/groin. It sucks, but you keep going.

gold medals should count 3x what bronze medals do and 1.5x what silver medals do

Maybe thats why she thought it would be better for a fellow american skater who is in good health, to take her spot. Makes sense to me.

You don't think she really really REALLY wanted to compete?

Did anyone else play the Shaun White drinking game Sunday night? Everyone takes a drink every time you hear an announcer say "Shaun White". I swear you couldn't go 30 seconds without hearing about the guy.

Most overhyped athlete I've heard so far in the Olympics.

How? I was watching the Olympics on Sunday night, and the announcers were saying "Shaun White" this and "Shaun White" that every 2 or 3 minutes. I simply got sick of hearing the name. Yes, he won, but remember that this is a sport where most of the competitors had ipods...

What? What does having an iPod have to do with anything? He's 19 and very good at snowboarding and brought home Gold for the United States.

Agreed, they destroyed Finland in the 3rd period.

I will say the two sisters on the womens curling team are pretty cute

US and Canada absolutely dominate Womens Hockey. When they finally play each other(for the Gold barring some catastrophe) it should be the best game of them all.

Go Canada Go! ;)

Winning gold at age 19 is a amazing feat.Furthermore he actually had to play pickup to barely making it into the finals before he stole the show.

Agreed, he pulled off some sick stuff.

Let's face it, the US isn't a powerhouse in the winter games and it is good for us to have a 1/2 finish. Last time it was 1/2/3 and it was awesome.
