Is it worth getting one if you already have the 360 controller?
I would try to get my hands on one first. I love the XB1 controller, but some have complained about the bumper buttons. Plus the sticks have a slightly "looser" feel to them so that takes a little getting used to. Try to go to a store that has a demo unit set up and try it out.

Good news for those who play with wired controllers. I don't imagine my wireless receiver for the 360 controller is going to work with this.. I wonder how long before they get around to making one of those for the X1 controller.

If your 360 controller is in good shape I will say no, it is a marginal difference. I actually think the sticks on the 360 controller are better because the xb1 sticks are taller. Not a deal breaker but as american gunner said, find a demo at a store like best buy or GameStop.

Depends. The two controllers are similar enough that I imagine most people will probably stick with their 360 pad for now.

However, the biggest improvement on the X1 controller is the D-pad. It is far and away superior to the POS D-pad on the 360, so if you use it a lot then the X1 controller would probably be a godsend.

Eh, the D-Pad is vastly improved, but it isn't like the bar was that high. The X1 D-Pad is still sub par to the Sony D-Pad and that is sub par to the Dreamcast D-Pad (holy grail, as far as I'm concerned).

I will definitely be trying this out tonight. I dislike using my PS3 controller (even without having to use Motion Joy).

anyone know if the effective polling rate is 2ms or less? asking because it makes me so mad that the 360 controller has an effective polling rate of 8ms.

Can you actually tell in gameplay? I mean you aren't playing quake 3 arena with it heh.

I don't know though and I wouldn't know how to check that.

I liked the SNES dpad as far as that goes anyway.

I have to try this against my ds4. I have used the ds4 on PC for about 5 months. I have used both controllers on their respective consoles as I own both. However I have yet to try the same game with each to get a direct comparison. I can now do that with my pc and compare them with the same game title.

Also this might mean the Killer Instinct TE2 fightstick from the xb1 will work on the PC. I will have to check that too.

I would assume the fightstick would work for PC, however, there really isn't any game that would be worth using it for right now. Until Ultra releases on PC (August 8th), it is still an outdated version of SF. =)

Can the XB1 be used as wireless to PC at this time?

It uses Wifi Direct. I am not sure if there is a dongle that supports that or if one is available from MS.

There are tons of fighters thanks to emulators. This would give me a 2nd stick for these plus other arcade games. I am not really interested in usf4 much.

I've never used a Dreamcast controller, but I definitely agree about the X1 d-pad being better but still not good enough. I still noticed way too many incidental diagonals while playing Killer Instinct. While some of those may have been my fault, I don't think all of them were.

I'd wager a lot of those are your fault. Execution takes hundreds of hours of practice. I have played fighting games "seriously" since Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (1994) was out in arcades. I've been using pretty much the same Japanese parts (Sanwa) for years and I still get bad or missed inputs.

I am not defending the d-pad, but just remarking that it takes a lot of practice to get near perfect execution.

I've played SF4 on PC with a PS4 and an XB1 controller now side by side and for that usage the DS4 is better, mostly due to the dpad and the Xbox triggers don't feel right for fighters anyway. I'd still rather use an arcade stick of course. Speaking of arcade sticks, the drivers do indeed allow the TE2 to work on PC. Not that most people care about that heh.

Next to play some Watch Dogs for a bit and see how I like the XB1 controller in a game I have used a DS4 extensively in.

Fighting games baby! (no I don't want to buy an arcade stick).

Any one have an Xbox One? Just wondering how the feel of the controller is: good/bad vs. the 360 controller.

I got an XB1 at release so I've used the controller for a while now. I find the XB1 controller is more comfortable and feels more precise, though it is a tad smaller. I agree with what others have said about the slighter taller 360 sticks being somewhat more comfortable. The XB1 D-pad is far superior and the triggers are much smoother than the 360.

All in all I find the XB1 controller in my hands to be better in many ways than the 360 controller, but the differences aren't enough to justify purchasing one if you already have a perfectly good 360 controller. If you have the money to burn though, it's really good.

My .02.
