Major delays for 360 titles ...
Well looks like my 360 is going to collect dust this summer. Heh also, I don't want to go quote myself, but when I got back from Zero Hour I tried to tell EVERYONE that Cliffy B specifically "hinted" that we won't see Gears of War until holiday season 06, regardless of what everyone was speculating and the release dates we saw. No one believe me.
But now look at the release date on it ... November.
The 360 is really REALLY starting to disappoint me. It's slowly going downhill as a system as a whole.
I expected a bit a dry spell over summer even though there should still be a few titles I will pick; this fall however should be nice. Anyhow I have seen a number of IPs being announced for the 360 in the last few weeks as well as valve announcing they are working on something for the 360. I'm just not disappointed at this point at all; with E3 right around the corner I'm sure MS has some good stuff up their sleeve, plus live, unlimited content capabilities is just a huge plus in my book. I'm willing to bear out, as the content will continue to get better imho.
I'm hoping the marketplace will improve. So far it's been a huge disappointment. It has a horrible layout and the new content just isn't there. They are having demos come out after the game is launched. They keep delaying these XBLA games which is starting to get even worse. They keep delaying demos even after they have announced them.
I still have faith in them, but my 360 breaking, along with all of these huge delays, is just making me lose faith in the 360 in general. But we'll see next month.
Well I'll be honest - out of the games I've rented and played so forth, I've pretty much devoted my time to my 360 in:
1) Geometry Wars
2) Halo 2
3) PGR3
I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means but I am a little disappointed. Like any new system though, it needs time to mature and develop.
PGR3
oblivion
GRAW for me
rented pretty much everything else..
some fun good games.. me im waiting for test drive unlimited and NCAA2007
and Dead Rising.

the animation is pretty bad as well. the graphics are very good, and the guns are pretty fun. i took the game back to the store after a week of having it, got full credit back and i got GRAW.
im hoping graw will hold me over for a while.. im sure live will keep me busy.
im not impressed with pdz at all...i do love the media center extender feature on the 360 though, that alone makes me love the 360 aside from the games.

How is Oblivion? I'm so tempted to try that because that's all I hear everyone talking about. I have no idea what the premise of the game is though.
I'd get GRAW too but Gamefly doesn't have it in my queue yet.

I got Oblivion yesterday, and to tell you the truth, I'm not that impressed. I've only played around two hours though. So far, FF:X kicks it's ass.

You just about made me choke on my Mt Dew.
Who believes that, for games anyway? It certainly wasn't a big issue for me for games.Originally posted by: erwos
I keep hoping they'll take a step back from their "no HD-DVD games" policy. Would it really be so hard to use hybrid DVD/HD-DVDs to provide backwards-compat for people without the HD-DVD upgrade? If it's just higher resolution assets, it shouldn't take that much more time to do testing on both versions. It would go a long way to alleviate concerns about PS3's Blu-Ray drive being hugely advantageous.
Thx.Eug: 802.11a should provide better connectivity, since microwaves operate near/at 2.4ghz.
So how much you willing to pay for one? I'd consider if it was under US$150, and output full HD through component.Originally posted by: QueasyNope. No pictures have been put out (that I know of) and probably won't until E3.Originally posted by: Darkstar757

So I finally received my 2Wire Wireless Ethernet Client. It's only 802.11b, but it's über reliable (although I haven't tried the microwave yet.Originally posted by: Eug
In the meantime I'm using the Logitech Play Link. Works great for music streaming and seems fine for Xbox Live logins, but it takes too long for media downloads since I don't get more than 100 KB/s (800 Kbps) through this setup. I guess I can't complain though since it only cost $12 (plus shipping), and there is zero configuration needed.
"It depends." There really seems to be a fundamental conflict between the apparent lack of digital video output with HDCP on the 360, and the requirement that HD-DVDs only output in HD over an HDCP-protected digital path. I guess there's three possibilities:Originally posted by: Eug

PDZ is THE WORST game out on the xbox360 and was the most over hyped piece of crap that I have played in a very very long time.

The original PD was total sh!t too. I can't believe the hype surrounding that game. Goldeneye destroyed it.
I've also seen them at Costco & BB. The shortage must be over.Originally posted by: jlmadyson

I agree Goldeneye destroyed PD, but it definitely was not shlt IMO. I had some great 4 player matches in the game.
But I agree it doesn't touch bond.
EDIT: also, playing 4 player co-op against 4 bots was fvcking amazing at that time as well.

April 28, 2006 - Microsoft has plans to debut the next-generation iteration of Forza Motorsport at this year's Electronic Entertainment Exposition, IGN learned today.
Following Microsoft's confirmation last year that successful franchises will appear on next gen systems, the matter wasn't whether the games will appear, but when. IGN learned from independent sources today that the next Forza Motorsport will show at Microsoft's pre-E3 news conference on Tuesday, May 9, complemented by a demo on the conference showfloor. Whether Forza 2 is behind closed doors or playable in the general booth is yet to be revealed.
What the full name is, when it ships, and what its feature set is, we don't know. When called, Microsoft said it doesn't comment on speculation and rumor, which leaves us to further rumor and speculation. Just kidding. That's it. Expect IGN to provide full coverage of Forza at E3.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is the premier event in the games industry. At no other time are so many high-profile announcements made, new games shown, or new gadgets and peripherals demonstrated. Whether it's a specific game still in development or just the future of the console or Xbox Live® that you're interested in, E3 lets you know just what to expect in the next year of gaming.
You'll find the info you need right herethroughout and after the show.
The surprises might be the most-anticipated aspect of the show, but there's a lot you can already expect to hear about that's plenty exciting on its own...
I bought my premium last month off the shelf. There were many units in-store at several stores I went to. Also, the hard drives were in stock and plentiful wherever I looked.Originally posted by: QueasyI've seen them everywhere the last few weeks (BB, Sams, Wal-Mart, Circuit City, etc etc). MS is going big next week for sure. If they come through with all this, plus the hardware side (already confirmed HD-DVD add on and camera to be there, hopefully bigger HDD as well) it's going to be big. Also who knows what else, IGN has supposedly confirmed footage of Halo 3 as well, we shall see. One thing is for certain, with the free week next week the servers are going to be bombarded.
