I thought it was a lot of fun and played very well.
Thing is, it's missing a lot of what made the PC game so good, like medics. At this point, it's just a class-based "take and hold", which is hardly all that amazing (hello, Enemy Territory!). I also found the control scheme to be slightly weird compared to GRAW's relatively intuitive scheme (left trigger to change stance? WTF?).

Early reports about the BC updates indicate that Fable: The Lost Chapters, NGB, and Forza are running much, much better now. I'm highly tempted to pick up the first two, since I've been told they were a couple of the best games to come out for the Xbox.

Sweet... I gave up on Forza on my 360 because it ran so bad... I'll have to throw it in and try again tonight...

Thanks for the update!

GRAW demo is up for those who have yet to get it. Also for those who picked up Far Cry what are your thoughts so far, likes, dislikes, must buy, yes/no, ect.

Rumor mill although from an ok source.

Next Halo Hits March 2007

Microsoft plans for wide-open spring 2007 launch.
by Douglass C. Perry

March 30, 2006 - The next Halo is coming in March 2007. According to a Microsoft source who asked to remain anonymous and a second source close to the company, IGN today learned that Microsoft will publish the next Halo game (as predicted in January) in March 2007.

When phoned, Microsoft declined to comment. While the holiday season remains the most important set of months to publish a game, the first calendar quarter of the year is proving to be bigger and more prominent in sales. Microsoft intends to innovate, challenge traditions, and to use its own "playbook" (as Microsoft's J Allard has said time and again), and slotting Halo 3 (or Halo Forerunners, or whatever April Fool's gag you choose) in March 2007 is likely to shift consumers' priorities. That anticipation will overlap with the first few months of Sony's and Nintendo's launches, cutting into their building stages, and shifting eyes toward and opening wallets for Xbox 360.

By theoretically shifting Halo to next spring, Microsoft thus allows third-party companies a better chance to shine independently of Bungie's uber shooter during the fall 2006 season. One must wonder, however, why the game wouldn't come out simultaneously with the movie, due in summer 2007. But if Halo 3's alleged March release date is officially confirmed, perhaps the game will leave questions for the movie to answer.

Expect more Halo 3 news at E3, where believe Bungie's game will premiere in video form.

Fable: The Lost Chapters runs pretty well now. Minor problem with sound artifacts, but frame-rate is pretty reasonable at this point. I also had a couple lock-ups, but nothing that was terribly frustrating.

If someone could give us a bit of confirmation about NGB, that'd be absolutely awesome. Just add Morrowind and DOA:U, Microsoft, and I'll be a happy man...

Has anyone picked up Top Spin 2 yet? I enjoyed the original a good bit. The new one has gotten mediocre reviews, but it's only $40 so I might pick it up anyway.

Hint for the Oblivion players.

Don't even think about wearing magic armor until you have armorer up to 50. Rings and Necklaces are fine, but anything else and it takes an arm and a leg to repair.

I got my new skin from vinzdecals.com... I uploaded the pic, and they created the skin with it.

The quality is overall very good. The side skins are a fraction of a millimeter too large (the vent holes don't like up exactly perfect), but not a big deal. I really wish it had come with a decal for the disc tray, though.

I previously had a skin from 360covers.com, and was happy with that one as well. I'd recommend either vendor. 🙂

Do you have a white DVD drive, or did you paint it? Mine is chrome, and I thought they all were.

The tray is white on core 360s and chrome on premiums. He was only able to find a core on the 22nd so he just picked that up and turned it into a premium with accessories.

Ahhh - I see! I had no idea. Other things being equal, I think the white drawer looks better, actually, though I think the Premium is the better value.

I agree on both counts. I ended up spending somewhere around $60 to make my Core the same as a Premium... But, to me, that was worth having it on launch day, and not spending the next several weeks trying to find one. 😉

$60 got you the HDD, component video cables, a remote, and a wireless controller 😕 ?

or do you mean you spent $60 over $400 ? (that would make sense actually heh)

I was wondering this as well.

BTW, the remote is no longer included with Premiums - I didn't get one with my Premium, which was built on Feb 12 and purchased on Mar 25.

Yah I should sell mine since I have a harmony remote now. they still sell the remote seperately though right?

Yep. Actually there is at least one cheapie aftermarket one as well, though I don't know why you'd buy it over the first-party one - if I were going aftermarket it would be to upgrade to a Harmony. The only reason I don't buy a Harmony is that my receiver uses an RF signal for its remote, so a Harmony won't work.

Do you need the remote to start and watch a DVD, like you did on XBox? I haven't tried doing that with my 360.
