Official X2 Motherboard Compatibility List

well, since they havent started shipping yet, it doesnt really matter if all boards are compatible NOW, just when they start shipping.

I'm really hoping they will still be able to work with the nForce 3 mobos, since i'm hoping to keep my AGP 6800 GT for a while.

Yeah they are called opteron mobos...you need opterons to run in dual cpu configs....They are also sckt 940 not sckt 939 and I believe that may be related to the extra HTT link added for cpu to cpu communications...

You wont see dual X2 mobos....

umm, they didnt have any dfi boards listed, even for the normal a64's. it came up for one dfi for the 3700+ it was the K8T800 Pro, based on the VIA K8T800 Pro chipset!

In fact, they have only a grand total of 10 mobos supporting X2 as of now... that's a little dissapointing dont u think? 😀

I wouldn't even worry..

The Neo2 is so popular, I don't think it COULDN'T be supported..

🙂

Were you not aware that MSI pulled their motherboard off the list due to problems they were encountering? MSI is currently "working" on the problem, but it's just another reason why I avoided the Neo2 Platinum.

I thought that they were already running the X2 on the Neo 2 Plat on xtremesystems?

god damn i hope there will be, i planned to purchase an X2 as soon as they come out .. but if it is not going to work with the current BIOS's out im going to have to leave it for a while .. 🙁

The MSI Neo2 Platinum has been shown to run the X2 chips, but MSI was having problems with a recent BIOS revision and currently lists Neo2 Platinum/X2 compatibility as "under testing". It's a popular board so hopefully they'll work out the kinks.

Hmm, I'm surprised a VIA chipset mobo made the list. VIA recently announced that their chipset was unable to run X2's and was working on a new one.

AMR? Didn't that used to mean "audio modem riser" or something like that? What does it mean now? (I must be "out of the loop")

SLI on ATI cards.

I guess it's called CrossFire now. The DFI board based on the ATI CrossFire chipset has been making its round, setting a few benchmarking records.

You're thinking about the VIA KT890 chipset (which does not support the X2)

...the K8T800 Pro is good to go 🙂

Bah, my board (GA-K8NF-9) doesn't run it.

On the other hand, that website seems to be a WIP so I'm not too concerned. Seeing as they just announced X2 chips, I'm pretty sure they haven't had time to test very many of the motherboards currently available.
