Going out on a limb, eh? 😛

A huge one. There's no way they can matchup with illinois, as long as the illini get by Arizona.

I'll take that wager. What is the amount?

There will be some for you if they get past the cats. 🙂

Not really. To be able to beat a team shooting like that, from that kind of a deficit has to say something. I mean it is the final 4.

two more games

two more games.

Sarcasm meter broken? 🙂

Explain to me why Louisville can't match up ??
Louisville is the #4 both polls team in the country.
Its the committe thats blind for giving them a #4 seed which is equivalent of being ranked #12-20.

I think if you're going to beat illinois you've got to overpower them on the inside with top notch big men like Arizona's Frye. Frye was outstanding, and with arizona's penetration it was a very effective (and impressive) combo. I don't think UL guards will be able to penetrate like Adams and Shakur(?) were able to do and without strong penetration there's no way UL will get many good 3pt shots that they like to rely on because illinois' guards are too good of defenders.

Illinois' offense is also amazingly efficient, one of their best passing teams in the country with essentially 3 point guards who can all score and dish, and without UL having a big shot blocker/weakside defender in the middle, their defense will be very vulnerable to illinois ball movement.

Lastly I think the scoring will be relatively too low for UL's liking, much more in the favor of Illinois.

That's my quick stab at it.

Thats a good observation but I quoted you because you made a very strong comment with the "There's no way they can matchup with illinois"
Its like you were trying to imply that Louisville have no chance to win the game.

We all know any ranked team can beat any other ranked team, and in this case its a #4 vs #1 so how can you even say Louisville have no chance ??
Don't forget Illinois lost to Ohio St and Ohio St also have a very short team.
Ohio St were able to beat them because of 3-pt shooting and Louisville is a very good 3-pt shooting team.
While Ohio St might have got lucky, the fact is that they still beat Illinois.

Spidey07 aren't you a Purdue graduate? Why the sudden interest and numerous postings about the Cards? Aren't you embarrased to support a team that yells Go Purdue when other opponents (other than Purdue) play them at home games? A true Boilermaker would never support them!

Gotta hate Bandwagon fans.

I'm rooting for them. They beat Memphis (my team 🙂) by 1 point in the C-USA championship game, they played an amazing game shooting over 60% for the arc. It was our only shot at getting into the NCAA tournament. We're stuck in the NIT, but playing well. UL has a great team, and they are well-coached.

hey dude, check where I'm from and have been my whole life.
louisville, KY.

So I've been rooting for them from the days of Darrel Griffif which was about 20 or so years ago. So that trumps my boilermaker status.

anyway....

Traitor Spidey07, what year did you graduate from Purdue? I will erase you from the records since you don't deserve your degree! You must always support your Alma Mater over all others.

Oh and Griff played 25 years ago..
