The Yankees outhit and outscored the Marlins, but they Yankees could not get a clutch hit, whereas the Marlins got very timely hitting. They truley deserve it this unlikely championship. They were better then the Yankees. For the first time since 1981 an opposing team pops champagne in Yankee stadium.

Gaddamn, the Yankee offence is INEPT this entire postseason. WTF is Soriano doing first pitch swinging here? Work the fvcking count, will ya? Beckett is sailing along. Yankees are swinging at everything.

Not just the post season...the whole year. I'm amazed we've made it this far. Other than that stretch in april/may we really haven't hit in the clutch the entire year.

Ticket: $25 Soda: $5 Parking: $10

Yankee fan admitting they're overrated: Priceless

What do you mean by overrated? I haven't heard anybody say their a great, much less very good team? ESPN still believes the sox are beter
rolleye.gif
as does most other media outlets. No Yankee fans think this team is even that good, this is the worst team since maybe 93. And by Yankee fans, I mean real fans, not the bandwaggoners...The real Yankee fans hate the people that jumped on the bandwaggon as much as anyone else does...
By what some of the Yankee fans around here spew, many think this year's team actually has talent! Finally someone who realizes the truth and admits it. :)

Honestly, do you really think, on paper and talent wise, the Yankees are better? The media feeds us alot of crap no doubt, but the numbers don't lie... In fact, many media outlets have predicted the Yankees to win with no logic whatsoever, only picking them because they are the "Yankees", lol. And who can argue with that opinion, after all they do have the highest payroll and have won their division the past 6 years :)

On paper no. A ton of media outlets liked other teams the past couple of years.

It's a shame that the Yanks lost because now we won't see all of their fairweather fans climb out of the woodwork.

For what could be considered an upset (Marlins payroll * 3 < Yankees payroll) there's not much post-win celebrating in this post. Anybody live in S. Florida??? We all know this WS was going to be boring but that was because the opinion was that the NYY would win. They didn't. Go face Steinbrenner you losers!!!

Yes, it was an upset, and the Marlins deserved it for outplaying the Yankees the way they did. It's a shame that they don't have much of a fanbase yet to celebrate this win, it was a magical postseason for them.

Fanbase is in South Florida just no one goes to the games because of the 97 sellout. Mostly all their games get televised and if no one was watching they wouldn't be on tv. You should see the streets of Miami right now. 8th street is jammed for MILES and traffic has stopped all over Miami. Luckily no setting fires and stuff just people in mass groups having fun and cheering and playing music.

Marlins parade is on Tuesday at 11 in the morn on a street in Miami and then it goes to Ft. Lauderdale for a boat parade in the afternoon I believe. I'm going to both and I'm sure thousands and thousands of people will be there. From an interview with Loria he said that he is going to work hard to keep A LOT of the players. Conine, Pudge, Lowell, Beckett, Cabrera, and the list goes on the ones he mentioned. Baseball in South Florida is definetly reborn. And who would've thought the dismantle of the 97 team let us pick Beckett in 98 since we got the first draft pick.

GOOOOO MARLINS!!!! Thanks for the incredible ride. :)

Just for the record, Cabrera looks like he'll be a big time player. If the Marlins let him get away they should just close down.

Yeah but are the Fish going to be willing to pay him the huge money he will command?
