Man I'm still stoked from the celebration!

You and the rest of us Philadelphians. I don't see much sleep in my future tonight. For that matter, I don't see my morning class tomorrow in my future either.

Huge Philadelphia phan. I celebrated in 1980 when the Phils won the series. Had my heart broken in 1983...and trampled on in 1993. I Live and Die with Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and Sixers. After the last pitch by Lidge, and the mayhem that ensued; I celebrated as did everyone that was here to watch the game with us. Fireworks were going off outside, firehouse sirens were blaring, and people were coming out of their houses to celebrate and generally make merry. It's now 1:20am and there are still some people outside my house standing in the street, talking with neighbors and watching the occasional car full of people going nuts, drive by our house. Our one neighbor a few doors down, actually bought his gas grill around front and was grilling up Phillies Franks for anyone out there celebrating. My neighbor across the street says he's staying up until the Philadelphia Newspaper truck rolls around to drop off todays morning edition so he can get it first! I almost dont want to call it a night and go to bed, for fear when I wake up that this is all a dream...I almost dont know what to do...

...Almost.;)

:thumbsup:To the 2008 World Champion Philadelphia Phillies!
Thanks for a great run guys!

alright, just got home...this shit is nuts. Party is going on all the way back to UofD near where I live. We stayed in lot K between the Linc and Citizens Bank Park until about an hour ago when the brought the horses through and kicked everyone out. Tried to run back north but my boy actually had to be at work at 9am and we are both wrecked. I will get pictures up tomorrow but it might not be until after work.

Funny shit, lost my personal phone during game 5 part 1, bought a new one the day after, found the old phone when we got to the parking lot today (in the back of the ride under a ton of shit), was on the new phone until about an hour before the game and the lost it at some point. I swear I couldn't have lost the new one between the front seat and 5 feet past the back of my Jeep. Neither of us can find it, I don't know what the fuck I did with it. I can get the old one activated again but this is fucked up. I'm apparently a crazy phone losing freak this week.

Anyways...fuck all this shit....PHILLY FUCKING WON!!! IT'S A CELEBRATION BITCHES!!!!!!

I honestly thought I was going to straight up cry when it happened, I got a little teary eyed but honestly didn't cry. There were some young (<10 yrs) kids in front and behind where we were sitting. I told them they were witnessing history and they wouldn't understand what they were seeing for years. They all hugged there parents. I will remember today for the rest of my life, I swear.

Hats off to the Phils. If there was anyone I wanted to lose this series to, its to a team that struggled just as hard as we did to get there. Great year.

You were in the Linc lot too? I was in K7... It was like WW3 for awhile there.

Best tailgating lot for Phillies. I think I was in K13 last night, I was in K8 on Monday.

Holy crap my head hurts. I did make it in to work (by 11) but I'm worthless.

Ok so some updates after last night's mayhem:

- Someone threw something through a window at Commerce Bank
- People started rioting and wound up breaking through the glass and into the inside of a store near my school
- SWAT team got called after those two incidents, many people got arrested
- Some cars got overturned

Let me start off by saying I am a Phillies fan.
With that said, I have accepted the fact that we will most likely chock in the big show. It is what we do. Sorry everybody.

The Phillies wont choke. Tampa Bay is simply going to crush them. It isn't choking if the other team is a hell of a lot better.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Parade tomorrow at Noon baby! Put my leave in no problem, gonna take the train to Market St. Station. Might be hard to get into The Bank for the big show but they're gonna open up The Linc too and play video from it on the screen. Should be awesome regardless, can't freakin' wait!

That would be nice, I'd love to keep Burrell here until he retires. What I really hope though is that the Phillies don't suddenly get cheap(er) now that we have a championship. Ruben Amaro is absolutely a company guy and he will tow that line since they groomed him for this GM job for years now. So we'll see what he does with Howard, Hamels and the other role players, I really hope they can keep this nucleus intact for another 5 years at least and maybe bang out another WS, but we'll see. And props to Ed Wade for getting the big guys and then not trading them.

"We play in a tough-ass town, and I'm proud of that," Burrell said. "I'm proud to say I play here and behind this city. Just for the fact that they've been behind me. I don't think anybody in here understands this city and the way [it thinks] more than I do. To be able to hand this over to them, this is as good as it gets."

Anyone here get lucky with celebration tickets at Citizen's Bank? Took 20 minutes for me to get a 100-level ticket at The Linc.
