holy crap Mexico up 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th

Yeah I just flipped channels when this thread moved up... WOW!!! isn't this a must win for the US?

Japan advances to semifinals with:
? A Mexico win over the United States by a score of 2-0 or 2-1, at any point before a second out is recorded in the bottom of the ninth inning

What if Mexico wins by more than that? Mexico moves on?

no still Japan...mexico is out of it

right now its if the US wins they are in, if mexico does then japan is in since it cant go 8 2/3s and mexico win 2-1

That's pretty freaking complicated... I guess I'll just wait for the game to be over and let them or you tell me who goes on.

actually, korea winning all three games really screwed up the tournament.

do you like apples?

nothing was screwed because we are advancing due to hard and good team work . Did you want us to lose on purpose to serve the benefit of other teams

how do you like them apples!!!

/a beautiful mind or from some movie dialogue

omg, you butchered that movie moment, lol. it was good will hunting, btw.

so now what, us just has to beat mexico? what if they lose but only give up like 1 run or something?

i can't figure out the tiebreakers in this thing.

earlier on the radio i heard, the US would be out of it if japan won but scored FEWER than 7 points. FEWER, HTH does that make sense?

Tiebreaker is points against...If the US scored fewer than 7 runs, Japan would have the tiebreaker.

bottom of the 8th, Mexico still up 2-1

Can the US still advance if they lose? They only gave up 2 runs this game, so who will have the tiebreaker if this score holds up?

Japan...they gave up 5 runs in 17 2/3 innings
US will have given up 5 runs in 17 innings
