I really want to see some of these other teams I know nothing about Cuba, Taiwan, etc...

Yea. The player who participate in the classic won't play spring training games. Its not big deal for position players. Its pitchers the mlb teams have to worry about and most of the big name pitchers are dropping out in droves.


As for the classic I'll root for my native puerto rico. The Mets play the PR team this sunday on espn (2pm). Beltran and Delgado will play for the PR team..should be something to watch for Mets fans.

Yeah if i saw correctly the mets have 5 players on puerto rico, i think that counts their minor league players

Heh, they were commenting in the first game how they've never seen a #3 hitter made to bunt the runner over before. Weird Asian style of play.

Korea 3, Japan 2, bottom of the 8th. wtf..

I expected more of a score of 5-2 Japan, lol. I thought Japan had a much more potent offense, and Korea has a better pitching staff.

eh..I'm not worried about the position players. Its the pitchers I worry about. They are just not ready for competitive play.

wow..korea won eh?? I'm sure they are quite happy over in korea! Nothing like beating japan over there eh? How did the players/fans react? Was it a big crowd? I figure a korea vs japan game would draw nicely.
 
i cant wait until 1pm for the mexico/usa game. and im glad that the usa team is starting out with the best active starting pitcher in major league baseball. 😉

okay, second best. i have to respect a guy over 40 who had an e.r.a. under 2 last year.

Yea.. the crowd is totally pumped up! The dominican fans exploded when Ortiz hit that homer off Santana.
 
i am watching DR v Venezuela

i guess we have to expect the pitchers to take it easy, so the hitting will be above normal. i guess that is all good considering this is basically exhibition games
 
I can't believe Johan Santana got hammered so badly in his outing vs. DR. I had expected the US team to beat Mexico by more than 2 runs. Anyway, go USA! 🙂
 
I miss Baseball. They only show pool A games after midnight. That's 1AM west coast qand 4AM east coast. :Q
