I enjoyed the whole thing thus far. Looking forward to its conclusion.
Now we know that US isn't the powerhouse of baseball as once thought. It's like, maybe, the world cup; it's anyone's game to take.
Of course, for awhile, there will be a group of dominant countries (like in soccer, there's Brazil, Germany, Italy, England, etc etc, just to name a few...) like US, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Japan, and the surprise Korea.
Those countires will probably fight for the WBC title (lol, sounds like boxing) for a few decades to come, pending that the WBC will still exist, and I seriously hope it will, since I really really enjoyed a ton of the games I've watched.
EDIT: heh, I was @ last nights game! the rain delay was lame, but damn, it was raining hard for a moment there hah. Ya, I was rooting for Korea, but ah well, can't win 'em all hehe. After the rain delay, quite a bit of people left, so everyone packed the dugout area seats, and (i was w/ the koreans doing the "Dae Han Min Guk!" chant, haha).
We stayed a bit, and the fans continued to chant and clap and congratulate the Korean team for going so far. People rewrote their signs to say "Thank you Team korea for your run, 6-1 isn't bad"
Also, the fans started chanting "Gaen Cha Nah!" which means literally "It's ok!"
I suppose a gesture of thanks for going far for the fans.
Even though the team I rooted for lost, I had a pretty good time. This is what fans should be like, and what watching baseball should be like.
