Cheney was doing well, had Edwards on defense--

then Question on Israel. The VP passed (tried to defend Haliburton by attacking Edwads record)
Question on jobs The VP passed
Edwards: America can't take 4 more years of your experience.

Cheney fading...

Too bad the presidential debates aren't between Cheney and Edwards...those two are the smartest/most confident candidates I've seen in a long, long time.

Personally, I believe Edwards is winning, though it's a tough call. Edwards seems to be the better debater though.

Both of them appear to be superior men to the Presidential candidates, but then I think we already knew that. IMO Edwards calm demeanor, clear voice, and excellent arguments have him the lead. But barely.

Hmmm, Edwards > Kerry but I'm not sure if Cheney > Bush. In conniving evil intellect, sure Cheney > Bush.

John Edwards has good hair. I might have to flip flop in the future and declare it a piece.

Surprise surprise

I think Edwards seems more likeable(sp?). Both seem very confidate. Edwards is great at going on the offense, but nothing seems to phase Cheney. So I would call it a toss-up.

Cheney is a backpedeling crook who could not answer any of the tough questions about haliburton and other issues.
John was on the ball a commendable performance for a unexperienced speaker.
Lies and fear mongering only work so long and Cheney was a bore if not dodgy and crooked looking

Edwards edged Cheney out but got a little sleazy when he played the gay daughter card, and got a lot out of his demeanor.

Cheney. Edwards was impatient and was cutting people off. That 1 outburst hurt him IMO.

i actually think it was very "southern gentleman."
just sort of taking such offense to the suggestion but being very polite nontheless.
i think that they both should get a lot of credit for stepping back form their own respective moments of anger.

about the gay daughter thing: i thought the moderator brought it up in a question first addressed to cheney and then edwards brought it up.
ga! i hope im not remembering wrong already.
orwell!

I give Edwards the win . . . by a hair.:D

Edwards is a master of the nonanswer.

Ifill: "So how is John Kerry going to bring peace to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?"
Edwards: "I have no frickin idea . . . but let me tell you something . . ."

Cheney is much better than Dubbya and incredibly skilled with facts and debating. IMHO, he was better on the terrorism / defense...which is his forte.

Edwards picked it up and won the domestic portion though. I liked "I don't think the American people can take another 4 years."

Cheney, by far.

Although I am a Republican, I actually worked for John Edwards during his Presidential campaign. While I was expecting to see Cheney take the upper hand in the debate, it shocked me how politically inept John Edwards is.

Cheney made the comment that, as President of the Senate, tonight was the first time he had met Edwards. What does that show in terms of leadership? What gives me confidence to vote for someone who hasn't been in the Senate a majority of the time--how do I know that he won't do the same as Vice-President of the United States?

Cheney presented the facts. He didn't seem flustered, as I personally thought Edwards did. Cheney answered the questions with facts, instead of rhetoric, as John Edwards did.

Edit: As to the CNN poll, let's wait until the morning. The poll was just added, and as of right now, is not accurate and holds no ground in my opinion. Let's also do something that many don't: let's compare many polls, not just one.
