It would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of sports if the Cowboys somehow found a way to win tonight.

Saints played poorly, Cowboys played great. The refs were absolutely horrible. Jaylon Smith doesn’t need to be playing, very dirty targeting tactics.

This was a rather quick and decisive action

The Kansas City Chiefs have released star running back Kareem Hunt, a decision that came after video surfaced earlier Friday that showed him shoving and kicking a woman in February. "Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident involving running back Kareem Hunt," the Chiefs said in the statement. "At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue. As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms that fact. We are releasing Kareem immediately."

Yea, saw that last night, kinda surprised TBH, Hunt was defiantly in the top 5 RB's in the NFL, led the league in yds last season as a rookie. Sad that in a alcohol-fueled moment he just trashed his careear, I understand that someone who's 23 might be inclined to get angry and do something dumb but what I DON'T get is anyone today not knowing that EVERY hotel, bar, retail store, ect. has video surveillance installed. Hunt was in the middle of his 4 yr rookie contract making $610K/season, when that was over he would have probably been good for $8-12 mil/season as a FA. Dude just threw out potentially $40 mil in future earnings, doubtful any team wants him now. Kicking a woman who was still dizzy from smacking into a wall is a pretty horrible look for any team looking to sign him.

He will be picked up next year when the outrage dies down. And whoever that team is will insist that everybody deserves a second chance and how he's learned from his mistakes. If we've learned anything about the NFL, you'll get a second chance if you are good... and probably a third.

I didn't see a 'kick' in that video. I honestly thought the video was going to be way worse than it was and all I really saw was him pushing a girl away who was all up in his grill.

Yea, if he really "attacked" this woman full bore she would still be in the hospital, it's more optics than actual assault, but with team owners not wanting to outrage fans it is what it is. With the Ray Rice incident it was much different, he knocked that girl completely out.

I think the NFL has to complete it's review process and mete out it's punishment, after the beating the league took over the whole Ray Rice incident the punishment here might not fit the actual crime, he was a very dynamic play-maker so if he's cleared to play eventually he might find a spot. His future earnings took a monster hit either way, if a team does sign him it will nowhere what he would have earned as a FA.

It wasn't just one incident. He punched a guy in the face during the summer as well. That the Chiefs nor NFL punished him at all for either situation (even though they were aware of both) is why they came out strongly. And yes, they had to come out harsh because of their past fuckups (Ray Rice) as well.

The Chiefs took quite a bit of risk in recent drafts. Marcus Peters I believe assaulted a coach (and was kicked out of the school he was at) in college. He then allegedly slapped his mother and possibly hit a bus driver after the Jets game last season (the one where he threw the flag into the stands). They took a big risk on Tyreek Hill, who was charged (think he plead guilty even) to hitting and choking his pregnant girlfriend in college. He seems to have actually become a better man (I think he married her, and she says he's legitimately changed for the better). I hope Tyreek reaches out to Hunt and tries to help him mature and become a better man.

Yes, this isn't anywhere close to the Ray Rice situation, or the multitude of other ones they've had (the former Panther/Cowboy linebacker, think there's been a couple on the 49ers - Foster and wasn't there another one?), but Hunt clearly still needs to work on it, and I'm glad the Chiefs took that action (even if I wonder if they should have done more before). I hope they offer to get him help, and if he really works and shows he's changed, and maybe even bring him back (although I'm pretty doubtful they would).

Oh, and by the way, did you guys miss that Adrian Peterson says he still hits his kids with switches?

It only took Ruben Foster a couple of days to find a new team so he will be picked up most likely

Bellichick will jump all over that.

But damn, good on KC for dropping a superstar at the peak of his game like that. Balls.

Well, I hope so. Based on what we actually do know these days, which still isn't a lot, pretty much anyone playing high-level football at that point in their career (college), has a better than 65% chance of operating on a brain made of jello. That thing has been destroyed for the previous 15 years of the high-level playing and training that they have endured, just to get to that point. That kind of violence is almost always a symptom of that physiological damage, and they can't control it. ...the only way to really "get better" is to stop putting yourself in situations where your brain is repeatedly pummeled against the interior wall of your skull (playing football).

so, I mean...if dude was already doing that, then I'm believing there is a less than 5% chance that was the last such incident from Hill, sad to say.

We'll see how "good" it is in about a month. If Andy Reid gets bounced in round 1 (probably round 2 actually since they will have a bye) again then I don't know how "good" that turns out for the Chiefs.

I still find the video to not really be bad based on what I saw, and also the videos of both his buddies and the girl afterwards. The chick was clearly hammered and lying about asking the front desk to call 911 and them telling her "thats what you get for being a slut" and then his buddies sounding very sober and coherent telling their side of the story. But hey, this is America where you are guilty until proven innocent.

McCarthy fired. Damn.

But I mean--you can only win 1 superbowl with Aaron Rodgers? Yeah, might be a problem....

Eh I don't think that is really fair. I mean how many Super Bowls did the Colts win with Peyton? How many have the Saints won with Breeze? And then we have Eli who won 2 going 9-7 both seasons.

well, Caldwell was fired. The Colts did win with Peyton and Dungy.

And then the Giants did fire Coughlin for some reason, which I thought was dumb. Yes, it's indeed a bit random and the atitidue of owners/GM isn't the same from team to team.

Other problem is that Packers bowed out of so many early playoff games, sure against some very good teams those years, but many were games that they easily lost on their own accord (I recall Wilson/Seattle dropping what was it--23 or so points at the end of the 4th quarter on them a few years ago?). At least the Colts had the perennial excuse of the Patriots standing in their way. 😀

--granted, they also won that Superbowl because they just needed to outscore Chicago's kick-returner, lol.

Not sure what I enjoyed more, Packers inability to beat the Cardinals or Shittsburgh swallowing the grenade to end the game.

Yea, I tuned in when it was 23-7 and BAM, the squealers were suddenly on the ropes, tell you what, Rivers is playing like a man possessed this year.
