bengals caught the blow out bug. This season seems to have more blowouts than usual. Hell even the Bears blew out the Falcants.

Bengals have beaten the Ravens and Jags, so they've been 2-3-1 since their bye in week 4

But considering the Ravens are starting to look like pretenders (take away what they've done to a floundering NFC South and the Ravens are 2-4 and -15 in net points instead of +66 with those 3 games), that means the contenders the Bengals have faced have been the Pats (43-17 loss), Colts (27-0 loss), and now the Browns (24-3 loss), and each of those games were worse than those already ugly scores suggest

Dolphins have been playing respectable ball and are VERY good at rushing the passer, just ask Brady or Rivers who both lost to them, the later 37-0. Tanerhill has settled down and is also playing well, this will be a lot closer than you think

I'm not sold on the Dolphins. They've won 4 of 5 against teams under .500 (lost to the team over .500). I don't consider beating up on the Jags, Raiders, and Bears proof of much other than you don't completely suck. Their next 3 games will show us what they really are.

If Dalton threw 17 more passes last night and completed all 17 for 10 yards each with 2 TDs he'd still have a worse passer rating, completion % and YPA than Blaine Gabbert's average in Jacksonville.
If you added every pass Big Ben threw on his last 6 TD performance to Dalton's total from last night you'd still have a worse passer rating than the league average for the year.
If Dalton had spiked the ball in the turf for an incompletion on every passing attempt his passer rating would be 37 points higher than it was."

does passer rating consider dropped INTs? because the Browns had at least 2 more that they really should have had, although I imagine Dalton would have been benched before he could get beyond 3 or at most 4

I think its possible his performance was worse than the already terrible stats suggest, a pretty good microcosm was when Dalton scrambled for a good 4-5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage and then threw the ball (seriously, was incredibly baffling to watch), drawing an illegal forward pass penalty which would have jeopardized their only score of the game if they had been 5 yards farther back to begin with because of how windy it was (wind actually caused the Browns to miss a reasonable FG attempt).

It doesn't, it's just an incomplete pass. I didn't watch much of the game but I did see that play where Dalton ran 5 yards past the line before passing. That was funny too.

When I watched it it made me miss Johnnie Knox. That kid had a rough break. Cutlet really had some bad throws early in his career. He is also very lucky he doesnt have more picks this year as 5-6 balls were dropped by opponents.


Bears need to run play action and throw to the third receiver more. Martellus is hurt and may not play. I wonder if some of Cutlers problems is hes trying to force balls into his buddy.

My bad, I should have checked before posting, anyway in today's games a shocker in progress so far as the Jets have a 17-0 upset going on at home, after 2-3 weeks of insane offensive games by Pitt me thinks they were not taking the Jets seriously but the Jets do a good job of rushing the passer and the Pat's barley squeaked by with a 3 point win awhile back. So far today the Steelers have mustered just 47 total yds of offensive with 2:00 left in the 1st half.
