So for the six of you who popped into my other thread (that unintentionally turned into a website thread) I thank you very much for your opinions. However, I've still got some things that I need to address so I'm making a new post.

Go here

I'm starting up a little side project to do some consumer level troubleshooting on the side. Not as a big moneymaker but even an extra hundred bucks a month would help. I'll just stream of consciousness the questions as they come to me purple monkey dishwasher.

1.) See that sidebar with the placeholders on the right? What the hell can I put there? I'm at a loss, content wise.

EDIT:

Adding and making changes based on ATOT feedback.

I know - like I said - just trying to make a buck to start out with, ya know? Should I see a big demand (which I wont but hey, it's a nice thought) then I'll hike prices :)

I hear you but there are 2 things with a price that low.

When the customer sees that price, they think you are a hack. So they go elsewhere.

OR

The customers that DO call, are teh ones who think you owe them the world for the $40 they paid you a week ago to fix their computer and now it is doing something totally different and it wasnt like that before you came out there so it is obviously your fault! SO YOU BETTER COME BACK AND FIX IT FOR FREE OR THEY WILL SUE!

Iv'e been there man. Too many times.

Anwyays, nice site. Not trying to thread-jack. PM me if you want some more suggestions.

While AT has several gifted HTML designers and coding wizards there are better forums suited for your questions.

I would highly recommend checking out and registering for DP.

Been there Ross ;) On your recommendation, no less. No, I put this question here because it was content related and not so much coding related.

Supply/Demand. If he could charge more he would. PC servicing isn't exactly a divine superpower anymore.

As for sticking stuff in then trying to decide what to do with it, generally a bad idea.

Yeah - which is why I'm putting to the masses :D I can take those placeholders out, I just like the way that sidebar looks over there, so I'd prefer not to.

I offer a large range of services, which is to say that I can do all sorts of things to help you out. That's not why you're on this page though, you're looking for pricing information. It's easy - I charge $40/hr

Full service?

But will you check the rubber and make sure there's enough pressure? Also, who's expected to do the pumping? You or the customer?

If you don't have anything to put there, then get rid of it.

I don't know if you are looking for pointers in general, but I'd change the tabs look on top to a solid color with segregated links. Maybe see how it looks below the banner instead of above too.

Fine. I'll come set up your home networking with up to two (2) computers.

Done - good call. That looks much better.
