Yea baby! My 4 year old computer can actually handle this.

will you even be able to see anything on the min spec? lol

still, i'd like to test my rig out to see how it does.

Nice, my system is closer to the rec than the min. Too bad I play at 1900x1200 lately.

So I guess this means that people who make video games have absolutely no idea how hardware works.

I'm shocked that my 9700 Pro actually meets the listed minimum requirements.

I know better though - I'm not even going to bother with the game (or any other recent/new one, for that matter) until I can upgrade. The games will still be there 😛

I noticed that too. The 1300 must be a typo. Maybe they mean 1900?

Wow! At last, the long-awaited UT3 requirements.

I don't understand this part...a Radeon x1300 would be a "recommended" spec? Maybe the game runs much better on ATI cards than nVidia cards? If an x1300 is "recommended" then the game should scream on my x800xt.

Does anyone know what "recommended" means in terms of frame rates? I suspect that the "recommended" hardware's performance won't satisfy most serious gamers.

I wonder how important it is to have a dual core CPU. Do those CPU speeds refer to Pentium speeds and not AMD speeds? Wouldn't a single core Athlon 64 3500 (2.2 Ghz) be much more powerful than a Pentium 4 2.2 Ghz single core? Could a fast single core hold its own against a lower-clocked dual core?

Thats pretty freakin sweet. The UT engines have always played well on low-mid range game systems.

They must have meant either an 1800 or a 1900. No way a 1300 is going to get anywhere near a 7800GTX.

I'm an ATI fan, but thats just not going to happen. 😛

Good, this means I can play the demo before I get my long awaited upgrade.

Not only that, but we can either wait for the next generation of nVidia cards to come out and hope that they finally put some much needed downward pressure on the prices of the other cards or wait for a white hot deal.

For one thing, are these specs for WinXP or WinVista?
1900 is quite a bit faster than 7800GTX, so it's reasonable to say - they meant 1600+.
What does surprise me is that 1GB of RAM is recomended. Either they did a really good job at optimizing the engine or they are bsing. Hope it's the first...

1GB of RAM? Seriously? An X1300? Are you sure this isn't for UT2004? 😛

I got 21.3272 on the calculator (CPU 4.6 GPU 4.55), but there is no Crossfire option, which I can only assume would bump the score a little.

Any word on when a demo may be coming out?

Not when they first came out. I'm highly suspect of what kind of experience merely meeting those specs will provide.

Anyone else notice that it only takes up 8 GB of hard drive space! I was expecting that it would take up about 30 GB and that we'd have to install from multiple DVDs. Now it looks like it will come on just one or two DVDs. Of course, after we add lots of custom textures and maps, it'll probably eat up 30 GB.
